Surprisingly, I have not had any significant performance issues on my setup. Game runs at 1440p max settings at a comfortable ~100 fps. I can definitely see how people would be mad about the optimization on the game, but I have yet to experience a significant bug or performance issue.

Positives
In terms of the actual game, it is a TON of fun. The writing is as good as Bl2, and the new gameplay elements added make combat a lot more vertical and creative than Bl3, and is super satisfying. Quests are generally interesting, and the game looks great. I really like how the vault hunters have way more contextual voice lines for specific situations. It makes it feel like they are part of the world. Finally, the Boss reroll mechanic is a fantastic quality of life improvement for farming, completely eliminating the need for save-quitting.

Neutral
I am currently on the fence with the open world. On one hand, it created a lot of opportunities for combat and objectives outside of actual quests, but on the other hand, it can be difficult to navigate and objectives can be very spread out. Luckily, the ability to fast travel from anywhere and the bike nullify this a bit. I also cannot speak on the post-game content yet, as I have not reached that point. The game is substantial, so it may be a while before I get there.

Negatives
My main gripe is with the drops. While Bl3 felt as if you received way too many drops, this game feels like the exact opposite. You can farm a boss 10 times and not get a single dedicated drop, which gets draining after a while. Furthermore, in my experience, the legendaries I have received have not felt as powerful as previous games, and some are pretty terrible. I think the drop rates need to be increased to a middle ground between the current rate and Bl3's rate, and the legendaries need buffs around the board. I also do not like the UI for the inventory or perks. It is really hard to navigate, and knowing how or what to filter things on is confusing and overwhelming.

The only bugs I have run across was with one quest start being bugged, not allowing me to accept it until I save-quit and reloaded the map. I also ran into a weird interaction with Marlowe's Flux Generator, where slower projectiles (ex. Plasma Coil) seem to lag and freeze when shot from inside the field, not going far enough to hit the target. It could be a feature with that specific skill, but it feels really bad, and basically makes those weapons useless in that specific situation.

Honestly, The game is worth a purchase if you can run it. Lots of fun, and I imagine i'll put as much time into it as I did with the previous games.

I bought this game with zero expectations, but I can say, based on my Post-It I made with game details, is that I genuinely enjoyed it. The story is fantastic, and presented in an interesting way, and the exploration and attention to detail required to play this game are very immersive.

Some minor complaints I had is that it is a little too open-ended, and figuring out where I missed something was frustrating at times. Also, the amount of backtracking is a bit much, but I understand why it is there.

Finally, and IDK if this counts as spoilers, but I managed to complete the game unintentionally in my exploration. It was a little jarring to have the game reach its climax before I felt that I solved the case, but It was still a satisfying ending

Overall, a very fun few hours that requires you to use your brain, and worth the purchase, especially on sale.

If you do buy this game, be sure to join OWS (Old, Weird, and Slow) on Discord. finding a community to race with is miles better than the career mode and public multiplayer, and is honestly what makes the game worth playing.

Solid game, prob an 8.5/10.

Honestly, the mechanics of this game will remind you a lot of Persona, which is definitely a good thing in my book. However, those features feel less in depth than Persona games, but don't really detract from the experience

I'd say the story is pretty good, as far as JRPGs go. It's pretty complicated and long-winded, but winds up being generally understandable and one you can definitely get invested into. However, you are getting yourself into a story that will take 4 games to resolve, so be prepared to be a bit unfulfilled at the end of this one.

Characters are fun and have a lot of personality, even it they tend to be a little generic at times. No complaints, as they make the game more fun.

Combat is overall fun and engaging, rewarding preparation and strategy. However, I did feel that some of the bosses have an difficulty spike that is downright frustrating when compared to the rooms leading up to them. This game does come with my new favorite JRPG feature, which is the "Weaken Enemies and Retry" button, allowing you to actually beat enemies that are giving you a hard time without a real penalty. Honestly, this feature alone saves much of the combat of this game, which can feel slow and tedious on tankier foes

Overall, I'd recommend this game. A few hiccups, but overall an enjoyable 60 hours.

A fantastic RPG with gorgeous graphics and music, simple, yet consistently interesting combat, incentives to explore and try new things, and a great story as well. Honestly, you're doing yourself a disservice by not picking this up.
