A masterpiece of a comeback. Digital Extremes has moved past "microtransaction hell" to become one of the most transparent devs in the industry.

Pros:

Consumer Friendly: Every piece of gear can be earned for free.

Power Trip: Movement and combat remain top-tier in the genre.

Dev Communication: They are actually fixing the game for the players, not the shareholders.

Cons:

Quest Pacing: The game occasionally forgets it’s a high-speed looter shooter. Certain Operator/Kahl segments are way too long, lack direction (looking at you, Natah’s father), and feature beyond dumb AI.

Static UI: Customization is limited to colors and scale. On modern monitors, having vital info stuck in the far corners is a major oversight.

Inconsistent Grinds: While generally better, a few specific farms remain unnecessarily punishing (not saying everything has to be easy, but seriously farming for citrine is a nightmare in and of itself)

Verdict: 9.5/10. It’s not perfect, but it’s the best "live service" experience on the market.

I walk around and preach the Gospel of the One True God, and people love it. The community is amazing.

Really easy to play. Low skill floor and super high ceiling for skill expression. Story is cool but not cannon, customization is at an all time high here. Overall 8/10.

Negatives:
Match Making is god awful unless you play with bots and this was before the mass player exodus
In higher latency matches you cannot ever tech a grab from an opponent
Modders are rampant. We need to implement some sort of sanity check to validate saves before we allow them to connect online. This is very common in other games like this and should be easy to add (in theory).

Would buy again!
