While it's graphics and art style may not be mind blowing in this day and age there's nothing quite like Rimworld. It can be a challenging game, even on some of the cosier modes, but the level of variety and freedom you have in the game to mix up various playthroughs make it so much fun. Want to play a bunch of tree hugging people who abhor violence? Go ahead. Want to play some blind mole people who are cannibals? Go ahead. On one playthrough one of my colonists had Asthma, so when I got attacked by raiders I captured a couple and took a good lung from each of them to transplant into my colonist and no more Asthma. I gave the Raiders the bad lungs and then sent them on their way as a message for their group.

All in all it's a well designed game with plenty to keep you occupied for hours and hours every playthrough, for a fraction of the cost of any AAA game these days, and thats not even counting the fact you can toss mods into the mix to change it up to the extreme.

What started off as a rough, messy and semi broken game has turned into probably one of the best space exploration, survival-esque?, games out there. The Flying is more arcadey then simulation which may turn off some people but the base building and planet exploring is so much fun, there's nothing quite like landing on your first titan creature planet and seeing massive beasts dwarfing everything around you as they fly over you. They consistently put out what I can best describe as seasons from other games, where you've a list of milestone challenges to beat over a couple months that unlock ships, decals, character items etc that can be accessed on any new character made and keep the game fairly fresh. And thats ontop of their fairly frequent major updates which typically add a good swath of new content to enjoy.

If you want something that's between both Battlefield and Arma then this is the game for you. More realistic then battlefield, yet not quite as straight simulation as Arma can be. A mic isn't needed to enjoy the game but it's definitely recommended if you wish to help your squadmates with tracking enemies and such in a quick manner. Definitely do the tutorial as learning during a live game can be very difficult and you'll miss key information, like how to get more ammo/bandages etc.

The game largely rewards teamwork, an uncoordinated squad or command typically leads to quick losses in firefights and the round as a whole. The maps are large and, depending on what gamemode you're in and your squads organization, it can involve alot of running to the next point.

As for gameplay you're definitely not a bullet sponge with only 1-2 bullets needed to knock you into a downed state. The nice thing about this though is that down is not out, you're given a timer (varies depending on how you went down but usually 4 minutes ish) and during that time any teammate with a bandage can you get you back up. The enemies can't do anything to you while you're in this state so friendlies can use this time to clear the area around you before risking bringing you up. You are given a give-up button so you don't have to sit around the entire duration but you do then lose a ticket for your team.

There is no customization or anything like that for your soldier. You pick your class (some will have a couple options, riflemen typically has 3 for example, with the difference usually just being a scope) with most of them having requirements based on squad/team size to unlock and then also having caps on how many total. The main benefit to this being you don't end up with a team of 50 marksmen or Anti Tank players, and theres no meta combination that's better then anything else.

Another part of gameplay does revolve around FoBs, Bases that players can make using logistics materials gathered from the main spawn. These FoBs play a huge role in the game as they allow for both spawning near, or on, the frontlines of the battlefield. They are also where your troops can rearm with ammo, rockets, bandages etc. Needed for both offense and defense they basically determine the flow of battle from one point to the next, but also can't be easily abandoned as to lose one is to lose a huge number of tickets (which are also used to respawn) and hitting 0 is a loss for your team.

Having been one of the lucky folks who played both the original games and this new remake I can wholeheartedly say that it is entirely worth it to pick this up. Many of the odd bugs and glitches that got missed in the originals are finally fixed and the game as a whole has been given a huge boost in both visual quality and even basic gameplay with tweaks to make 1 and 2 play a bit more fluidly. If you want an epic story with a fantastic soundtrack and amazing characters then definitely pick this up! Not to mention it's three whole games with tons of side content to keep you busy for a long long time.

While the genre of game may not be for everyone this game will appeal to fans of strategy simulation esque games, or those familiar with Paradox's other series (including the previous CK games). CK3 is much more user and beginner friendly then previous entries, though it can still bombard you with rapid fire events one after another so ample use of the pause button is recommended in those events. The first few playthroughs i'd say play a normal, non ironman, game just to familiarize yourself with events and actions with lower risk to everything you worked on imploding since you'll be able to save/load. However for the best CK3 experience play with Ironman mode turned on, which prevents (mostly) savescumming, and go with the cards you're dealt. It's certainly not a fast paced game and more suited to SP games, however in MP it can be an absolute blast of a time if you play with a couple of friends working towards a similar goal while also lightly messing with eachothers realms from time to time.

A fantastic looter shooter, especially consider the free pricetag now, for playing on your own or with a few friends. While it's been out for awhile now it's still well populated for finding Crucible matches, Strikes or hooking up with a group to pump out some of the large multihour (sometimes) Raids. The game does eventually reach a point where you'll find yourself repeating the same things over and over to get better gear and the versions of weapons with the perks you prefer which can be a turn off for some people. However if you want a fairly good feeling shooter with plenty of different powers and weapons to experiment with it's well worth a try, and should you stick with it investing in the DLC expansions is a worthy thing as they had plenty of their own stories and missions to enjoy.

While this game has been out for over 15 years now it's still a fantastic DnD game. It's by no means perfect but still delivers a fun and enjoyable single player experience, however the bread and butter lays in the multiplayer. While the online population has died down, naturally, it still maintains a loyal fanbase of players with dozens of servers to join from Persistent World RP servers to full on PvP servers and everything between. The enhanced edition does come with some issues, notably their efforts to create more modern and pleasant appearing gear/player models hasn't happened yet and the changes they've made have come with some new bugs and crashes(It is still a WIP enhancement). However if you're a fan of DnD 3rd edition and enjoy creating stories with other people, or just killing them in PvP, it's worth giving a shot.

All around it's a very fun building strategy type game. Plenty of different mechanics to keep you on your toes without being a strong burden. Plenty of settings and modifiers as well that you can tweak to make the game easier or more difficult based on how you like to play these games.

If you've ever played harvest moon or similar games you'll be right at home playing this. It's a fun, easy to get into, game with a nice little story and lots of NPCS to interact with. The creators fairly good on squashing any bugs found as well as adding content to the game with multiplayer still in the works. Highly Recommend. 10/10

Each year I find myself coming back to this game and find that it's just been constantly added upon by both the developer and modders making it feel fresh every time.
