This is an interactive novel with atrocious combat. It took me 89 hours to 100% this game using a guide to help me with the convoluted things. Say you can read a book at 40-50 pages per hour. You could read 3600-4500 pages in the time it took me to finish this game. That's 4 Steven Erikson books! You could also watch 45-50 movies!
The companions in this game are OK however kitting them out is paint-by-numbers. You can't do anything fun with them outside of giving them the items they are designed to get and the gear variety is awful. The items you do get for your characters don't do anything interesting.
If you want to play a game where you can kit out your party your way and slay lots of monsters while not worry too much about story, play Icewind Dale.
If you want a game with great companions you can actually kit out, have game-play freedom and enjoy a great story, play Baldur's Gate 1 & 2.
If you want more Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 then download mods like Artisan's Kitpack, NPC Project etc.
You also need to play Pillars of Eternity. That's a CRPG masterpiece.
Only play this game if you are trying to complete all the major and classic CRPGs like I am. You will suffer through this one though.

I love this game already. It took me 37 minutes to create my first party and I'm still not completely satisfied.

This game is for people who grew up playing action platformer games in the late 90s and early 2000s. The game this reminded me of the most was MediEvil and to a lesser degree Spyro, Banjo-Kazooie and Fable. If that sounds like what you want then this game will be worth the price for one play through. There is no replay-ability here (disregard the achievement designed around replay-ability by cheesing it).
Regardless of what I say this game has a demo. Play the demo and decide for yourself.

At this point I can no longer recommend this game, particularly if you live in NA. There are so few active servers with low enough ping to be playable.
If that's not frustrating enough there is an unfixable (as far as I have researched and tested) game stutter that happens (at least for me) every 4-5 seconds.
This is a shame because the game was so much fun but now it's essentially unplayable. Maybe Insurgency: Sandstorm doesn't have these problems. Try that instead.

My computer runs an i7-3770K, 16gb ram and two GTX960s in SLI.
Framerate of this game jumps between 4 and 20fps. It's unplayable.

I also cannot find a controls layout; whether to rebind keys or just to figure out what the #$*( I am doing. How can you release a game and expect players to just smash keys until something happens?

It's a shame when creativity and good execution go unnoticed. This game deserves more buyers and reviews than it has. Watch the TotalBiscuit review on YouTube and if you like what you see please buy it to support a good developer. The game has been updated since that video (hence the 'Reloaded' in the title) but the core is the same.

This game is definitely worth buying but sadly you can't acquire on it's own anymore (on Steam). Still recommend the whole package though as the other pieces are great in their own regards.
Those commenting about low frame rates are absolutely correct. You need to fix this bug that exists with Logitech drivers and described in this post:

Not my fix.
Don't miss out on one of the best single player FPS games ever.

Update: It's a great game. Don't buy it. You can see other posts that explain why so I wont rehash it.

Sounds like a good premise. Unfortunately I can't play it. I loaded the game on a Thursday night at 1900 local time. Only 4 servers online with 0 players. Refund requested. Sorry but I am not playing a multiplayer game with no players.

Is this a complete game? No it's a playable demo level.
Is it a good playable demo level? Yes.
The combat is good but takes some getting used to. Stylistically amazing.
The "puzzle" is weird. I don't honestly know if I got it right because I figured it out or if I got lucky.
The enemy models are good looking. The attack patterns are a bit boring yes but if you have played Devil May Cry (the audience who should buy this game) before you should know this and be fine with it.
Optimization seemed good to me. I run an i7-3770k with 2 EVGA 960s in SLI and I was getting 56 frames. The textures seemed decent during movement/combat but could use a bit of smoothing.
Is the story good? I don't know yet. The best I could pick up is that the game is something like Tomb Raider but sci-fi. Based on what I see it could be something serviceable.
The XP/Leveling system seems interesting. I am assuming for full game release that the abilities would have different Tiers or that XP would drop less frequently as for this demo (understandably) leveling is too rapid.
There isn't too much to say about a short playable demo level. I recommend buying this as I believe this developer has potential and I would like them to succeed. Even if the game never comes out or isn't 9/10 game quality I will still find this $5.35 (on sale) money well spent.
Note for developer: It's annoying for enemies to die in the air and have their "XP Pickups" floating. Please find a way to program things to drop to the floor on enemy death.
