The game tries to be "difficult" by using RNG mechanics, every combat effect and character abilities all rely on getting perfect rolls. Even when you get a semi-successful roll, it doesn't matter cause attacks will often miss or get dodged by the enemy. This leads to the beginning of the game being too frustrating to play since you will fail or miss in most of your turns. Character abilities are also based on RNG and you don't get a feeling of consistency at any point of the game.
