I highly recommend this, especially if you are a Star Trek Fan. Its a scoped down, (or steamlined) version of Stellaris, but specifically tailored to Star Trek with lots of room to grow as they add updates. It means its more playable and has more of a Star Trek story line than Stellaris (of course).

Fun but very simple game. The UI is good and easy to use. I was up and playing within minutes. Its a fast and simple 4X game where the focus is on the starship battles.
For the people who like more detailed starship combat, I would not recommend it. All ship weapons fire 360 degrees. I move and fire my entire force, then the computers moves his entire force and fires. Ships are able to move 4-7 hexes generally with no apparent limitation on turning, meaning its easy to get behind an opponent. Shields are stronger up front and weaker in back.
Ship design is limited to leveling up various components like engines, shields, armor, lasers, plasma cannons and torpedoes.
Entertaining and well done like all Sid Meier Games, but also simple.

Best 4 X ever!

This is probably the best starship combat game available if you prefer tactically interesting games over flashy arcade or RTS style games. I highly recommend it and they keep making it better and better.
