Game is solid. Like a mesh of Ark and Rust with a tinge of Skyrim, but you're a wizard... sort of. Basic quest-line that isn't super interesting but it takes you around the world and knowledge tree is very expansive. Lots of stuff to encounter the farther you get but it can be a bit grind-y.

Alright lets be real. This is a very basic game with a rehashed plot. HOWEVER. The way they added the need for silence and then a discussion period as well as some relatively basic tasks changes it entirely.

No voice chat so if you have a group of friends, join a call together and have a great time (but be muted when necessary. Believe it or not, it adds the sense of loneliness in space that makes it more intense and also gives the "traitor" [called The Imposter in this game] an easier time and reduces RDM). If you don't have anyone on, you get the full front of the internet in text chat. Sometimes your teammates are Sherlock Holmes. Sometimes they're Inspector Clouseau. You will win, you will lose, and you will stumble into greatness. Prepare for confusion.

The tasks you do as a "crewmate" are pretty mundane to be honest but the simplicity makes it easy for anyone to understand but also distracts you just enough to not see someone coming unless you ACTIVELY look for it, and even then it can be hard.

There are good games, and there are bad games. Overall the player base seems well rounded enough to make interesting, exciting, and frustrating gameplay that turns a simple concept that's been done before into a masterpiece.

If you like the idea of an M rated Mario Party, you'll love this. Add a few friends to a discord and maybe a few brews and you are no doubt gonna have a great time.

First off: this is only the hours I have on PC. I have played on Playstation and Xbox as well and the only thing I can say is yes.

Is the game fun? Yes
Is the game challenging? Yes
Are some of the players immensely toxic? Also yes.

Despite the obvious 'try hard-ing' that comes with any competitive game, it is incredibly well balanced.
As you get better, so too do the opponents that PSYONIX pairs you with.
The mechanics are relatively intuitive and as you learn and try more difficult tasks, there is a great sense of accomplishment.

I won't lie to you though. Sometimes the servers are unstable (maybe more than they ought to be). There is obvious underlying sarcasm in the Quick Chats just to be rude. And often times you can get paired with someone AFK, lazy, or rude but when the you make the team work, the dream works.

The game has its flaws. As any game does. I would still pick this over damn near any other game.
