If you're relatively timid towards PVP (and that's me, BTW) then this game is going to hit different. This game can be and mostly is a very tense experience. You have to keep your eyes peeled for both the ARC robot aggressors and the other players hiding in the bushes. Each are virtually equal dangers. The deep environmental immersion and brilliant audio cues will keep you on the edge of your seat listening for signs of life and will have you jumping at shadows.

I am usually very shy to dive into experiences like this one, but this game keeps me coming back for more.

Early Access Review
Unfortunately, it's taken me more than 2 hours to figure this out. Otherwise I would be asking for a refund on this one. The reason why it took me more than 2 hours to figure it out is because this game is tedious. But beyond the very slow drip of the early game experience, just about every aspect of this game is the exact opposite of what I might be looking for in an MMORPG. The camera controls are terrible. No matter what keybindings I choose, I can't ever seem to get the camera to point where I want it to. The design choice to use WASD for camera is... well, it's a choice alright. The crafting system is maddening. Even the simplest of early recipes leave you in a weird maze of crafting stations and materials that are hard to understand, locate instructions for, or even discover their material locations. The inventory management system is also frustrating and opaque. The only thing I can say I was at all a fan of was the art style.

Since I can't return it, all I can do is uninstall it and try to forget the $30 I spent.

When I first saw the were making a sequel to Helldivers, I was immediately interested. When I saw that it was going to be a FPS, I was both intrigued and skeptical at the same time. But, oh boy, have they ever nailed it. This game is now absolutely ranking in my favorites of all time. It is simultaneously hard and fun, frustrating and hilarious, It is kind of like the opposite of the definition of war wherein they say war is long stretches of boredom punctuated by moments of sheer terror. This game is almost nonstop madness punctuated by a few moments here and there to collect yourself, take a breath, and then head straight into another five minutes of madness. Friendly fire is definitely a thing. It may be THE thing. The ability to blow yourself and your teammates up and apart is maddening and completely, gut bustingly, hilarious. It is such a great experience. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a challenge, nonstop action, and hilarity.
