One of the best games this year.
If you loved telltale games, this felt exactly like those but better in almost every single way

phenomenal story telling, great OST, and characters that you really get attached to

So far worse in every way possible compared to Grounded 1. Performance is worse despite looking the exact same(thank you UE5). You can't even make a crafting table in the first TWO HOURS of gameplay, and you are force fed the riding on bugs mechanic by going through multiple fetch quests for the first two hours of gameplay. Multiplayer is very poorly handled performance wise too. UI feels like a step back and everything feels clunkier in terms of UI, movement, gathering, combat, etc.

Very disappointed. Do not buy in current state.

I know this game received a lot of flak on launch for poor optimization and bugs, but in 2025 I can definitely recommend it. Performance has been almost entirely solved and there are only a few complaints about optimization, with the most annoying being that occasionally during long play sessions the game will enter a permanent stutter until you restart, where every 10 frames or so it plays a frame from 10 frames ago, giving a very annoying and frustrating stutter (this actually happened right at the VERY END OF THE GAME during the final boss fight and cut scenes for me which was quite annoying) but again, it can be solved by a quick restart and I only had it happen to play sessions that went on for longer than 4 hours.
The holotable's galaxy map also has stuttering problems, and it never moved around smoothly for me.
Only other thing I noticed was that some clothes cloth would be jittery at random, and I have no idea what caused this. It didn't bother me, but I can see how it could be one of those pet peeve things for other people.

Anyways, the story was great, gameplay is a step up over fallen order, visuals are awesome, customization options were very nice.

The last game I will ever buy in the CoD franchise unless something SERIOUSLY changes. I haven't played in a while, but this was a $70 waste of money that was supposed to last for 2 years, barely made that, and then was made entirely unplayable by the release of the exact same game but for ANOTHER $70 (which mind you, was supposed to be a DLC in the first place).

I have 24 minutes playtime as of writing this review, 5 were spent in the tutorial, and the remaining 19 minutes have been matchmaking for a SOLO MATCH

It is ONLINE ONLY
I expect these times to lower as the game continues due to less people trying to play but right now I cannot recommend it as it is GENUINELY IMPOSSIBLE to get a game even when trying to play BY MYSELF
