Having new recipies available at earlier tiers such as the biofuel cleaner or cheaper concrete tier build pieces using limestone is most appreciated but suspect it makes it harder or more frustrating for a low level character with not enough tech points to spare. All the new building pieces are also most welcome. It was also was a plesant surprise that oil was added to all the other existing maps making this update not limited to just the new area.

New map isn't too bad. The new gear added adds a interesting twist to how you gather resources but it feels like it doesn't invalidate how op the miasmic tools are when you have a material cleanser. The newly added vehicle feels pretty good to use and in most ways, is better than an animal mount if all you want is to get places fast. Despite this, the new animals and tameable animals are neat. For mid to early game, they are still worth having.

Story starts off not too bad but when it comes to the ending, im not too impressed. The events that happened in the last quest feels like it is full of holes. Hoping this gets expanded upon in a later update.

Overall, its more Icarus. If you like the loop but want more Icarus, this is worth getting.

The game overall is ok. I wouldn't put it in the top tier but but the gameplay loop is fairly solid though something about the upgrade unlocks feel a bit off probably related to the game story pacing issues. It also feels like the systems added towards the end (avoiding saying too much) was just tacked on in such a way that it feels like forced progression.

I feel the story pacing has some issues such that it feels like the end was a bit rushed, much like a anime that ran out of budget towards the end so condensed most of the story events into the last few episodes. I wasn't a fan of the main character but that is more a personal opinion.

Probably a title I would recommend waiting for when a sale swings around as there is some fun to be had.

Overall, this game feels like it leans much more heavily on the creative sandbox side of the spectrum with a substantial amount of in game tools and content for you to decide how you wish to play. In the game's current state, it feels like they try to nudge you to the creative building side a lot more and is not shy at telling you that you have new things to play with when you obtain a new resource. The general idea is that you can craft things wherever you are (short of the few resources that needs to be put through some kind of resource processor); no need to search for a workbench to build things, just build it straight out of your inventory!

Though the generated world is not infinite, they have a large selection of pre-generated world templates and at no point in time did I feel that the world was too small. The world creation side is one of the most configurable I have seen in a crafting sandbox title. Alongside the world creation is a very nice admin area for managing the world and its contents/entities. The built-in land claim system appears to work pretty well too.

The support staff has been most helpful and respond very quickly to help resolve issues (Thanks Francesco). I came back to check out the world migration feature only to find that my world created in 2015 during early access had to be migrated (which is fine) and what appears to have been a successful migration turned out to be a problem where the world template was no longer available. Support was able to find and re-enable that world template (under the name Lowlands 10K-3) so that I was able to load up that world again. This is quite impressive that such an old world would still load so many years later. Had a few more issues but the problems were very quickly resolved by their friendly support.

Early Access Review
There is a lot of potential here. The environment and setting is quite unique. Started off liking what I saw but that changed quickly as I played through the game. As of writing this, there are game breaking bugs which completely prevent progression at all. I would like to revise this in the future should these bugs be resolved but in the game's current state, it requires quite a lot more work.

After you have move enough large objects around (i.e. pallets, barrels, boxes, etc.), the game seems to get into a state where it is no longer able to keep track of the large objects. This results in the said objects no longer interactable. I suspect this would also be a problem if you built a number of containers or structural pieces too.

You are able to shift click between containers but the game is not capable of recognising that items of the same type can be shift click stacked so they remain in stacks of 1 after transferring. The only way to stack is to manually drag them on top of each other but in doing so, I discovered another bug. If you had a half stack of tape in your tent and a single roll of tape in your inventory, dragging the single roll of tape into the stack in the tent sometimes resulted in a stack of 2. How does 5+1=2? This may be related to the game breaking bug of the game not being able to keep track of the objects beyond a point.

I would love to revisit this when the bugs are resolved but as of now, it is difficult to recommend.

Get materials to build things... to automate building more things... to automate automate building things... then you realise you built your base wrong and pull it all up and build it all over again... repeat. Then do the same on another map...

If you live in a country far away from where the servers are located, this game would be perfect for testing your patience and anger management.
* Think you dodged a rocket? Think again...
* Think you blocked an attack with your sheild? Nope.
* Jumped out of the way to evade an attack? Too slow!
* Think you switched your weapon? Let me use the first weapon for you!
* Ran over retracted spiked floor? Nope, let me take some life off you for good measure
* Finished your 2 strike combo attack? Let me repeat that last swing for you so you can get hit during the animation while not doing any damage to the monsters!
* Have a personal ADSL2+ connection that averages 11.5Mbps and have thrown money at the game? Thanks, we will gladly take your money, here have some extra lag.
But that is ok because if you die, you can use spark items to revive. Ran out of life sparks? Sure, no problem! The in game shop has plenty for sale for real money!
