Stellar 2D is undoubtedly the best game im never going to install
Stellar 2D is a retro style space arcade game, it's a 2D game in a 3D world. With an addictive, fast paced, casual game-play style. For $0.14 it's worth a try. In a way it's one of those games that's "so bad it's good". There's hilarious grammar issues like how the main menu says "star game", and when you get "horizontal freezed". Plus, I encountered the world's easiest boss. A huge ship slowly came into view, and I prepared for a fight. Then I shot it once and it blew up, and I burst into laughter. After level 5 the game just becomes a jumbled mess with dozens of things flying around the screen, and you can't even tell what projectiles are yours and what's trying to kill you. Definitely a fun bit of entertainment for less than a quarter, definitely not a good game though. There is a graphics/input screen that pops up before game.exe starts up.
(yes it really shows up as game.exe)
This easily lets you chose your resolution and control scheme.

Wait a second where did my mouse go?... Nevermind that...

The first thing you may notice is that just like real life, the illusion of choice doesn't always result in change.
In fact, chosing a new resolution doesn't scale the game like you'd expect, it merely changes how much of the game you are able to see on your monitor.
Likewise the input selection doesn't actually do anything. The game plays with default controls no matter what.

On to the game itself. Honestly I don't know what the ♥♥♥♥ is going on with the random powerups.
I got too scared to take any powerups out of fear that I will lose my directional movement control.
So apart from powerups there is guns, LOTS OF GUNS AND THEY SHOOT LASERS!
But wait all the guns are the same gun, that play the same overly distorted laser sound at different speeds. That's fine I can just mute the game so I don't go deaf and play for 15 seconds and die and watch the amazing opening still frame cinematic with a mumbling narrator who's words I can't even begin to understand.

"Atreo3....invade...planet....destruction...BEGINS NOW!" Ok got it thank you for that.
Pros:
-Intresting and entertaining (At first) ideas
-Graphics are OK
-Health bars are present which a lot of modern games decide they don't need

Cons:
-Confusing UI
-Random damage without any indication
-Main menu glitch

Basically, i done a few runs however did not have any fun and got increasingly angry at the game for randomly killing me. The devs seem like good developers (as far as I've seen so far) which I appriciate however they must test games fully before putting them out.
How to enjoy this game to the fullest:

Now that the developer fixed the main menu issue, I can write an actual review.

There are a lot of issues with the game. You have to wait for the game to launch, and once you are in the game you must watch a long, unskipable cut sceen every time you wish to play. Once you are in the game, you fight ships and avoid obsticles. The problem is that the projectiles that the enimies fire at you blend in with the background. Another problem is that when you pick up a power up, giant blue words pop up and block most of the screen making it hard to see what is going on in that part of the screen. Other then the problems I have mentioned above, It seems like it has some potential. I think I will Check back later to see if the problems are fixed. If eventually they are, I will try the game out again.

The ships and background look like they were taken from google images, the intro to the first planet (I don't know if theres more planets) is confusing, movement of everything is doesn't look good, looks like it was made in 3 seconds, the rating I give it is -999999999/10, I never thought I'd find such a bad game, its a waste of money (thank god for steam refunds).

Plus a very huge problem with this game is 1 of the background pictures is of the Normandy from Mass Effect which is a Bioware game and copyrighted by them, the creator(s) of this game doesn't own any pictures in this game he (or they) should ask the owners (or credit them) to use the images in this (pile of sh*t) game.

I'M SAYING DEFINITELY BUY THIS GAME!

1. Buy the game (When on sale)
2. Download Idle Master
3. Load Idle Master
4. Watch Anime for 2 Hours
5. Sell Trading Cards
6. Profit

This quote has some truth to it, but also some lies. Stellar 2D is a retro style space arcade game but it is NOT addictive. In fact, this game seems quite incomplete and quite bad at the moment. HOWEVER, there is some potential buried deep within Stellar 2D. The overall idea isn’t bad or original. It’s basically a bullet hell, casual space arcade game. Sounds like a fun game right? WRONG! Currently there are SO many problems that Stellar 2D isn’t fun.

-Random status effects prevent horizontal or vertical movement.
Like WTF! These effects are the most annoying part about Stellar 2D. These so called “power-ups” make this game unbearable.

-Virtually invisible bullets
These “bullets” (I use that term loosely) are practically invisible 99% of the time. It makes this game not fun and just bad, unless the idea was that in the future bullets (all except you’re bullets) are undetectable.

-Game’s Menu / HUD
Do NOT get me started about this menu or HUD. Although the developer had fixed SOME issues, it’s still s*** and visually unappealing. Like what’s up with the font?

-Graphics
The game’s graphics are s*** at best. The opening cut scene’s graphics was the worst that I’ve ever seen in a game…EVER! It’s just not good.

-Sound Effects
Gave me permanent, PERMANENT hearing damage, 11 / 10.

-Space Crafts
Many appear to be unoriginal and copied.

What also “bugs” me about Stellar 2D is that there are STILL bugs (see what I did there) in this game, mainly with the menu. On August 5th 2015, I launched Stellar 2D to find the audio disappeared the moment I clicked on the menu. Although (for this game) no sound is better than sound…this shouldn’t happen. Now I know the developers did fix some issues but still, COME ON! This would be understandable if this game was in early access, but it’s not!

My final comments on this game are, I’m glad I got it for $.15. At this stage, it’s really, REALLY not worth purchasing. However, I like the idea. If the developers can fix this game up then I’ll gladly change my review from negative to positive.

I really hope that this game will eventually meet my standards but as of now…it’s just painful.
But on the other hand... TRADING CARDS!!!! YESSSSS
Have fun!
