Never thought I would see another Talos Principle, as a fan of the first game.

Well, similar to Portal, the sequal is a huge step forward in all the right ways: Story, puzzles, worlds, bonus puzzles, etc. Looks beautiful, has a great soundtrack and amazing unique looking worlds.

I cannot wait for a third game!

Already amongst by all time favourite puzzle games, along with the first game, portal and the witness.

Highly recommended.

A fun (and frustrating) spoof on The Witness. Scratches that itch until we might get a Witness 2.

A perfect representation of the consequences of violating a happy pizza with the horrors of pineapple.

Must play.

4 player coop "zombie" survival. Scratches that Left 4 Dead itch no other game manages to.

Great music. Fun gameplay. Good game progression with perks and weapon unlocks.

Everything looks brown and bland though, making enemies far away difficult to spot. It also makes playing it feel a bit monotone.

Snipers extremely OP and certain gameplay/characters needs balancing. But game is still in beta.

An extremely true to the originals remaster made by the same team. Updated graphics, after original models. Upscaled video and Higher quality (epic) music. And AI just as frustratingly annoying as back in the mid 90's.

It's a great blast to the past for one of the original games that established real time strategy as a genre, by the great studio that invented the genre. Sadly killed off by EA shortly after it got bought. RIP Westwood.

It's been quite a journey. I've had loads of fun and lots to do. Soloing whisper of the worm + catalyst was quite the experience. Of course you will never know, because it's been removed from the game.

In fact almost all the good free content has now been deleted or "sunset" as they call it. But that is not the worst part of this game and the reason why I cannot recommend it anymore. No, it's much worse:

META!

There are 3 classes in this game.. only 2 of them a viable in PVP: The extremely OP Hunter and and little less op Titan. The third is warlock, a class that is constantly nerfed, despite being the weakest, with the least op abilities. You want to melee someone? There is a time nerf on Warlock. Why? No idea, the other 2 classes don't. Any upside? Nope.

But it gets worse: There's 15 weapon types in the game. Meta means you can only really use shotgun and hand cannon. There is no realistic counter to the shotgun when people slide around. Rest is pointless.. with the exception of the newest scout rifle, which costs money = pay to win.

But it gets worse: You have abilities. With the introduction of the latest expansion, a new ability called stasis was introduced. It makes enemies able to freeze you.. you don't always die.. sometimes you're just frozen and can just wait to be killed. They recently nerfed stasis, but it is still op and very unfun to play against.

The biggest upside to this game is the end game content. But the RAIDS require you to play with 6 people. No more, no less. Want to have fun with 2 people? Nope, you are forced to play with others. Voice comm is basically mandatory too. There are dungeons that are like 3 man raids, which are ok.. but most are hidden behind a paywall.

RNG (how weapons and mods drop) is horrible in this game. There is little to no insurance that you will eventually get what you want/need. With hundreds of won PVP games in as many hours, I still don't have the catalyst (weapon mod) for the Wigilance Wing.
The lack of controlled RNG just enforces the gambling mechanics that is RNG in looter shooters.

So in conclusion: You can't play how you want or with what weapons you want in PVP. The best abilities are exclusive to the hunter and partly titan in PVP. The end game content requires too much to engage in, especially with a lot of other people. The gambling mechanics are untethered and last but not least, any new weapon and ability is always OP and hidden behind a paywall = pay to win.

This game was basically at its best before the release of Beyond Light expansion. It is now at its worst. Especially if you don't want to pay 60+ € for the newest expansion + the old expansions, + 10€ every quarter.
But hey, you can always get one shot killed by a hunter sliding half way across the map with a shotgun.

Uninstalled.

Should have been a Borderlands 2 DLC. Same look and feel as BL2. Humour is very hit and miss and lootsplosions don't really exist in this game in the normal bosses. I found more golden stuff in random lockers and vending machines than in drops from enemies and bosses. To play this game, grind weapons in the grinder to get golden weapons. It's the only "practical" way. It's annoying and grindy to a bore.

This is the borderlands to ignore.

First person parkour? Sounds problematic. Like Mirror's Edge. But to my surprise, it worked great. Plenty of intuitive jumps, kicks, climbs, etc, makes it really fun to jump through the town dodging or drop kicking zombies.

This open world game uses 2 different open areas, one being standard area and the second being a more difficult endgame area. This works great, so you don't get stuck in areas where you fall to your death due to lack of skills unlocked.

The game can be played coop (with the exception of certain game defining moments), but they are few and make sense. I reckon it's more scary to play alone, and might also be more difficult, as you don't have a partner to pick you up. I played coop and it was really fun as a result.

Story DLC is a third open area where you get a car to drive over fields (and zombies). A great addition to the game. Bozak on the other hand is just arena style rounds of grinding through stuff. There is some variety in each round (kill all, jump through check points, blow something up, etc.). It's ok, but not great.

All in all, it was a great experience to play this game, and even though I was very late to the game (pun intended) I'm happy I did. One of the best coop games since Borderlands. Highly recommended.

Cute little story. Similar to Life is Strange. But very short. Achievements a little bugged, so you use the guides. All in all, I enjoyed it.
