Game was terrible but fun before the 7.00 update.

Pro's: The new loading and buying items before the game starts is really cool, the strategy time and what not and hero selection menu's are definitely improved and I enjoy them. This part was a smart move, picking hero's while people load instead of sitting around waiting with your thumb up your ass was a good decision, prop's to whoever made this.

Con's: In game UI is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrible and you need a magnifying glass to read anything, ♥♥♥♥ it took me 10 games to figure out how to view my Strength Agility and Intelligence, letalone the new map changes!

Set it back to the old map, old settings before the update, old GUI but leave the hero selection menu and new loading method before game's.

Early Access Review
The developers add plenty of content and are extremely active, giving the community what it wants, why the negative review?

It's so simple...

The game runs like traffic in 3 feet of snow, your car or truck is stuck no matter how powerful it is, and even if you try to shovel they keep adding more snow into the game.

I understand it's early access, however this is ridiculously unoptimized, the game is due for full release in half a year, they have 6 months to make a game that runs terrible into a super stable game, enjoy when you're using Unreal Engine 4, not exactly the easiest engine to code with, am I right?

I like lists, so heres a list of pro's and con's.

Positives:
+Great visuals if you can run it
+Lots of Dinosaur diversity
+Lots of content, almost too much
+Tribes, PvP, PvE, theres something for everyone
+Servers that are persistant
+Community servers which are usually good options
+You can tame and ride dinosaurs, thats ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sweet
+Active developers, that listen to the community to some extent, more on this later

Cons:
-Runs like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, even for an early access game. I'm sorry but I have an i5-4690k at 4.5Ghz, 16GB DDR3 1866Mhz RAM, GTX 980Ti 6GB which is superclocked to the edge of being unstable, the game is on a 600MB/s read and write SSD, and I get 30fps on ultra, maybe, usually 20-40, it's not very stable. There's literally no excuse for that, Early access games run poorly, but that is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bad it's ridiculous, I didn't go drop $2000+ on a massive gaming rig with a sexy monitor and peripherals to play games at 30fps, I got it so every game is 60fps, minimum, most run at 144Hz. Again, yes, it's early access, but it's way too poorly optimized to be an Early Access game, it's more of a first try at a PC game type of optimization, and the more content you add, the longer optimizing it's gonna take. What's gonna happen when theres too much? Too much content that if you want it to run better you'll have to start removing things?

-Developers listen to the community to some extent. As in, if you want something added and many other players do, it gets added, however to all the 30,000+ people wanting optimizations, they don't care. To the ENTIRE community base who wants moderation on these hackers in official servers, they don't care. Really? You're making such a great game and going to throw your community down the drain? It'll backfire eventually.

-The laaaaaag, servers run like ♥♥♥♥, hit registration is stupidly inaccurate, community servers are the way to go in this game people, sorry to dissapoint.

-Persistant world, yes, it's cool, but it also means if you have 2 hours a day to play ARK, you'll never get further than sticks and stones because people wipe the floor with your base. Reward for playing is obviously a thing needed, but it's unfair that people who want to play a little bit, get their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ asses handed to them by 14 year olds who play 12 hours a day and do nothing else, not cool. Not easy to fix however, but it's an issue brought up constantly and needs to be addressed. Perhaps servers where your base is completely invincible and your dinos are aswell when you're offline, but being online is fair game? That'd work.

tl;dr, game runs like ♥♥♥♥, unless you have a super computer don't try playing, wait till they maybe optimize the game, other than the optimizations and persistant world/hackers ♥♥♥♥, it's a really good game.

Edit: The addition of offline raid protection pvp servers has removed that con, good move, but still not enough to flip to a positive review.

My honest review of the game:

Pro's:
+ The combat system is very fluid, much more enjoyable, unlike past Fallout games where combat was aweful unless you spammed V.A.T.S, I rarely use V.A.T.S in Fallout 4.
+ Visuals are very pretty, not sure why people are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about how they're not, look good to me, 10x better than old games, I like it.
+ Crafting was well done, really like the amount of modding possible, and it opens up MASSIVE potential for the modding community to go nuts with it, I'm excited to see what comes out.
+ Explosions, effects and everything are on par, nothing like walking into a raider base with my tank and a car explodes directly beside me causing a nuke while they all scramble and I gun them all down. Lasers are pretty, haven't tried plasma yet, nobody uses it, it's impossible to obtain without certain things involving the main quest, not spoiling.
+ Dog, DOG, HES SO CUTE. and ♥♥♥♥♥ bad guys up pretty hard, +1
+ People and how they interact with you are fairly well done, however there's a lack of content, the content provided is extremely fluid and well made, but there's not enough.
+ No level cap

Meh:
= Your character talks, I find this awesome but I also ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate it. It's amazing because well, it's new, it's cool, its baller even. There's one thing that's bad though, dialogue options are so limited because of it, you can only say, yes, no, be a giant ♥♥♥♥, and info. The amount of quests is also reduced due to this, dialogue had to be cut back drastically because of this. Plus the modding community got ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over due to it, how can they voice you? It doesn't work like that... At least if they added characters they could voice themselves easily without ruining lore.
= Skills, the new tree is cool, but I prefer skill points and perks, not all in one, and how each stat limits how far you go on that tree, it somewhat makes sense but I preferred needing 5 INT and 7 CHR for a certain perk, than 10 CHR makes me able to get all the perks in that set tree. It's a nice change but I personally prefer the old system.
= Companions and AI are good and bad. Either they're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiots and run into stupid ♥♥♥♥ and get wrecked, or they're smart taking cover, calling backup, or as the new ghouls are, very cool, kinda like zombies from CoD, I really like the ghouls, they're very well done. The new robots are neat too, with predictable patterns as they are robots
= No ammo crafting, not the end of the world, but I wish it was a thing, turning to the modding community for this in the future.

Negatives:
- No role-play, you're either a Mom or Dad searching for their kid, that's it, you can't be some merc guy who does ♥♥♥♥ for monies or a ruthless killer walking around murdering everything in sight (well you can, but the game doesn't support it without the karma system as much as Fallout 3 and NV did), or a pacifist, you HAVE to kill guys, and they're setup for you, you just need to point and shoot, it clearly shows who's good and bad right off.
- Power armor and death claw fight, within an hour into the game? That's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid, it would've been fine if there were much more content to power suits in general. Not "Here you go, the best toy in the game, go wreck everyone as these are common as hell later in the game". When I got the suit and wrecked the death claw I was thinking "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that was awesome! This must just be a scratch of the surface, I wonder how many parts there are for this armor, or maybe different types of armor or vehicles perhaps?", but well, there's 3 types of power armor total, and well, they're all fairly easy to get, as one of them is straight up given to you.
- Not as many weapons as I was expecting, I went into coc qasmoke which is the dev area with everything in the game, to see what content there is, and well, that list isn't very big, it's mostly different variants of modded guns, of about 20 to 30 different guns. Not much diversity there, kinda disappointed in that aspect.
- Maps smaller than Skyrims even though Bethesda said it was bigger, sure maybe it has more walk-able terrain but a 1/3rd of the map is water.
- Stripped RPG elements, not enough dialogue, the game babysits you too, there's no punishment for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, if you can even ♥♥♥♥ up, which you have to try to for most stuff.

That's my review, I'd say for a game that doesn't have a history, if it was a new series 9/10 for sure, but for what it is to the series? 6.5 maybe 7/10. It's very fun none the less, I enjoy it, it's just, empty, it lacks people to talk to, things to do... The story was super easy to beat, I was on normal difficulty however, will try on survival, see how I fair after that, hah. Witcher 3 was much more enjoyable of a game in the RPG element, but Fallout 4 is plain just a fun sandbox. I still love the game and will continue to play it for days on end, it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blast, but it's not an RPG... Not yet anyway... *Looks over at modding community*

Anyone else think it feels a bit like Mass Effect? I loved the series, but I can't help but see several reminders to that game, especially the dialogue.

Pros:
- Artwork is great, I love it, it looks very nice
- Great concept with planets, and how the units maneuver the planets in a full circle is well done
- Destroying planets with other planets is really cool
- Battles can be pretty epic looking

Cons:
- Runs like ♥♥♥♥
- Unstable FPS
- Dev's are a typical moneygrabbing scumbag group of people
- Unfinished promises
- Unbalanced
- Not enough content for a "Full game" if you'd call it that, plus the expansion.
- It's not even that good of an RTS in general compared to it's competitors which are much, much older

High hopes for a game, and then it crashed, I was close to dropping $80 on it but I didn't, and damn, I'm glad I didn't even buy it, someone else got it for me, wouldn't waste a penny on this game. If you want a good RTS game, go play Supreme Commander 2 or Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance, both great games that will satisfy your RTS desires.

What happened to the old Call of Duty? I want Modern Warfare back... If they'd just release that game again with improved visuals and sounds, but leave it stock I'd be happy.

Early Access Review
This game, is just simply amazing. I was convinced to get it, and was extremely hesitant, but it was surely worth it. I made sure to get a server going so me and my friends would be able to do stuff together, which just made the game that much more enjoyable.

You can go from building ships, to complex systems or mechanical structures, vehicles, rovers, space stations. Best of all, you can blow it all up with a great physics engine!

I've looked and 90% of the negative reviews are about bugs, but its an early access game, so you cant just give it a negative review for having a minor bug when the game is in an Alpha state.

Would buy 1000 times over, and the devs actually interact with the community, what more could we ask for?
