Bit of a strange one to review. I didnt really find the individual parts to be all that good but as a whole package I found this game to be quite enjoyable. I was messing round and didnt really tackle the game seriously but I broadly liked what I played. Admittedly unlikely for me to play it again in the future as it is not that interesting. 7/10.

This is a decent game but not at full price. At a fairly heavy discount I can see value there but ultimately if you have to define the value of a game by price then it has already fallen short in some respects. The game does not evoke strong emotions either way with me feeling simply "Meh" throughout. I give it a qualified recommendation if on discount and 6/10.

There is not much to it other than the fact I didn't really like it.

I have a soft spot for Big Pharma because it introduced me to the factory genre long ago. Many of the ideas here were developed in Production Line which is an improvement in many respects.

The premise is simple, you are a pharma company that is making generic drugs and developing IP with these drugs to create a market advantage over your competitors. As you research more equipment you will be able to create drugs with different delivery mechanisms (syringes, capsules, creams) and trademark those. The bad side is the new equipment typically requires a significant reworking of your production lines and when you are running multiple lines in a small space it becomes more unwieldy and somewhat less interesting to manage it all.

All in all this is a good enough game, I wish they would go back and add more to it or develop it into something else but the reality is the developer has moved on to Megaquarium which has a bigger audience and earning potential This is a cautious recommendation. 7/10

Interesting concept but it is buggy, I cant even change the resolution in options. Hit boxes arent accurate and I need to fluff around to get the workers to do something as simple as going to a room sometimes. It is not the most intuitive UI out there. There are definite issues with balancing, things that could have been fixed if the developer stayed onboard but sadly the game is now abandoned.

TLDR; great concept, buggy and balanced execution, abandoned before everything was sorted. Not recommended. 3/10.

After playing a bunch of idlers on and off over the years, this was the one that finally got me hooked on the genre. Loved the simple graphics, gameplay loop and progression. Every small upgrade feels rewarding and trying to see how various upgrades affect the gameplay is also fun. I also have to add that the art style and animation were phenomenal to my eyes.

I have since played many other idlers but this will always have a special place. I give this a 9,5/10.

I'm one of the old timers who longs for a game that scratches the Black & White god game itch from back in the day. At first glance, Universim seems to deliver on that promise, question is whether it holds true.

Let's start with the good, the idea of a round planet that you see in its entirety, good animations and colour palette, love the day and night cycle over the planet and the overall vibe of the game. As you slowly unlock more technologies and buildings, you get the option of researching "Ministry of X" that basically can automate decision making for that specific aspect. For example water consumption is a big thing in the game and it can be time consuming managing that, with a Ministry of Water that will be automated so you can focus on other things. The pace of upgrades and sense of progression is quite good. Using your powers feels rather satisfying to put out fires, move objects etc...

Where the game falters is on the management side. As the buildings increase, it becomes very difficult to manage the number of nuggets operating in each. Maybe it was just me but I could never get a handle on what needs to be done organically as I would in other management games. It would also have been nice if there was a single screen where I can manage the number of nuggets in each building or type of building. Having to manually search a planet for a specific type of building without using layers is not intuitive especially as buildings tend to look the same from far away in the early ages. Another issue I cant quantify is the game did little to reel me in, yes it was engaging enough to play but not in a way which keeps me coming back. Case in point my game crashed twice and in both times I lost around 30 mins since my previous save, my primary reaction was "Meh", take that as you will.

All in all I give Universim a qualified recommendation. It is a 6/10 from me.

Some of the the ideas present are good, namely the research tree being meaningful in addition to the various new buildings that add some flavour to the resort.

Looked very interesting in principle but the game is now abandoned and incomplete. The barrier to progression is not so much your skill or money but time. Out of my 2 hours of gameplay, a good chunk of that was just waiting for things to happen especially on the reputation upgrade side. I think the basis for a good game was there but the ideas were not developed further.

This game may be worth it to some at a 75% discount and it is regularly on discount as well. Even then I would rather wait longer term for this discount to increase towards 90%, I simply feel there isn't enough content here to justify paying for any price that's not at least 75% discounted. I give this game a 2.5/10.

For so long AC players of old have been clamouring for a return to the style of the original games and after waiting for so long we finally got what we asked for. Has it lived up to expectations?

Long story short, I would say for the most part it has. This was clearly designed from the ground up to be a tighter more streamlined experience than AC Origins onwards. If you belong to the older generation that experienced the original games then this one includes some of the quality of life improvements, great graphics and the usual control scheme. Stealth is very much a focus of the game and it is very easy to quickly get overwhelmed if you try to go in guns (or as is the case, daggers) blazing. There is a much more methodical and deliberate feel to Mirage, including finding clues to aid you in the assassinations, multiple approaches that you can take and the need for patience.

On to the bad, having not played Valhalla, the ending of Mirage seemed a little nonsensical. I know the games are linked and it is important to play Valhalla to get a better feeling for the events of this game but since I didn't it was clear I'm missing out on some lore. Not a deal breaker but I found it rather annoying. Despite having potentially multiple approaches to a mission you kind of feel that the game is egging you towards a specific route as opposed to exploring all options and choosing the best one but perhaps that was more to do with my playstyle. Lastly, despite enjoying the gameplay, the general plot and characters left something to be desired. I remember more of other AC games that I played years ago than I do Mirage which I played months ago. Unlike the solid gameplay, the story was a solid "Meh" for me.

In conclusion, this was a sweet return to the AC games of old. I was happy to go back to a more stealth focused approach but it equally made me appreciate the open world nature of the modern AC games. I will certainly welcome more stealth AC games in the future however as this one was designed well despite a few shortcomings. I give AC Mirage a 7/10.
