In terms of story, this might be one of the best games I've ever played. The first two Cantos are by far the weakest, even if I did enjoy them for what they were.
The characters are also great, all inspired by classical literature, but with Project Moon's own twist on them.
Personally like the gameplay (I really like team-building in games), but it's not for everyone.
This game is a Gacha (it has gambling), however you can get every character in the game for free by Sharding them, however if you are just starting it will take A WHILE, and it will take a lot of grinding.
The Battlepass (that lasts until the end of the season, at this point seasons last like, 200 days) speeds up this process so much it's absolutely worth it, and it's only about £10 I believe.
In terms of Gachas, this is probably one of, if not the worst, at getting you to spend on it.
The only time you really "need" to pull for characters instead of Sharding them is Walpurgis Night, an event that comes around every 3~ months. During a 2 week period, IDs from old Walpurgis Nights will be Shardable, however the (generally) 2 new IDs (sometimes also an EGO), will not be Shardable until the next Walpurgis Night. This means that unless you wanna wait potentially 3 months, you HAVE to pull for them, however generally you can save up enough over the 3 months to get all the new IDs (usually).

TLDR: 10/10 Game, it DOESN'T fuel my gambling addiction, but that's what real gambling is for.

Playing a modpack with a starting colonist who's nearly [Title Card] but start with literally no items and research.

Wildmen wondering around, starving because they are eating all my food, kill and eat them, pawn doesn't like it, another pawn joins me, joins in on the cannibalism, also doesn't like it, another pawn joins, after several days, betrays me in middle of ritual, kill them, original pawn upset that the first one that joined killed their best friend, literally a traitor but aight.

Some researcher crashes and asks for help, infection so high she can't live, find a thing in her pocket that lets me upload her mind into it, operates on her successfully, mind uploaded to it, dies of infection, raid happens, one raider lives, arrest them and chuck the mind uploading device into them, the researcher replaces their mind and joins me but now as a man, make a nationalist ideology, RP that the description is written by the researcher and that they've lost it and will follow og pawn for as long as they live.

This is so far one of the more "normal" playthroughs I've had, 10/10 would use child soldiers that blow up when they die again. (Mods allowed the most unhinged stuff istg)

Actually one of the buggiest, most spaghetti code games I have ever played, 10/10 would recommend if you like wholesome games.

Early Access Review
Generally with games in this style (Diablo, Grim Dawn, etc.) i really enjoy them but there's something in the gameplay that puts me off and gets to stop playing after a few hours, with this game everything (so far) feels just right, there's actually difficulty because there's a dodge (can't believe this game is a souls-like), the choices in terms of character building are insane (like me), and it isn't getting boring because the enemies aren't just the exact same ai but with different models and numbers, the gameplay is actually so good I've made a second character cause I want to experience more ways this game is played other than M1ing with a big stick (peak monk gameplay), fact that's so much and this is only 1/2 of the classes and 1/3 of the ascendancy classes (sub-classes) release will have is wild.

TLDR: If you liked Diablo, Grim Dawn or other games like that you'll probably like this so get it, if you haven't played them then get this cause it's good, and if you don't like those games then still get this or I'll Youtube you.

A multiplayer hero shooter I can play and have fun playing instead of wanting to shoot myself? I thought it couldn't be done but it can, crazy.
