takes the characters, maps, and weapons of vampire survivors and slathers its deliciousness onto a deck building roguelite. simply marvelous

This is a good game. This is also the most user un-friendly game Ive ever played. When you install the game it doesn't even install the latest version of the game and you have to go through the Steam UI to manually install it. The Isle gives you nothing to work with and will leave you incredibly confused but also incredibly interested enough to watch youtube videos on how to survive in this godforsasken developer hellhole of a dinosaur game

Fantastic game in all accounts

If you like the OG Quake games, or modern Doom and also like roguelites youll love this. The fast paced action, the thrill of getting those purple weapons, the heart-racing tension of fighting a horde room with just a sliver of HP left. Its the chef's kiss of indie games.

Tons of unique builds/weapons each run and the different classes make replay-ability so much fun. Plus no microtransactions! Hope they release DLC in the future, the low cost of the game itself makes me much more willing to drop more money on it in the future. So exiting to be a gamer in the indie renaissance of actual good games.

It hurts to see Hawken bastardized like this. Developing the lore is cool and the voice acting is okay besides some cringe worthy moments. Whats not okay is everything else.

Except for the mech frames being based on some of the original models, the whole game has been slammed into a generic FPS model albeit with some original movement ideas being preserved like the thrusters and quick directional dash. Speaking of thrusters, why does the movement seem so janky? Seems like you float around and the dash just jerks you around in a set direction instead of feeling like a jetpack blasting you a preset distance. All they had to do was use the original fluid thrust movement.

None of the original weapons are really here, just all the ones that fill your basic weapon ideas like submachine gun, assault rifle, shotgun, grenade launcher. The problem is they just are generic and feel like you could be in call of duty or battlefield, not piloting a mech. and where the ♥♥♥♥ is the TOW launcher? I spent literal years becoming a beast with it and it WORKED! made the gameplay of most of the mechs unique to Hawken and added a huge skill ceiling because of the remote detonate, travel time, and the fact that you were stuck with it. The original assault rifle and submachine gun were just your regular weapons but beefed up for mech to mech combat which isnt here.

LONG STORY SHORT I dont understand why 505 had to reinvent the wheel. We were all so exited to have Hawken suddenly back from the dead and it seemed like a dream come true for us OG PC players. I played 500+ hours before the game came to steam and then played another 300 until the shutdown, and even though I havent spent as much time as the real veteran players, I think I can speak for us all when I say this; 505...Please for the love of the Fuzzy Bunny...you have the IP and the original game dropped into your lap. the game worked and it played well. Just bring back what made the game great instead of abandoning the only people that are even bothering to play this game at all instead of trying to make a totally different game for an audience that has no idea it even exists. I would much rather this never come out and be blissfully unaware of anything being done with the Hawken IP instead of having my heartstrings yanked because of the massive amount of nostalgia I have for the original game.

Aint gonna lie the story of dying light 2 will piss you off unless you play RPGs as pure good or evil. youre given clear cut story options to divert to one faction or another but I like to play somewhere between lawful neutral and lawful evil in every RPG and because of the main characters impulsiveness and emotions or development choices youre absolutely railroaded into certain actions and faction choices which I HATE. I wish they would just say "pick faction A or B and further their goals" and remove the fake and forced story choices. (think fallout 4 where dialogue doesn't matter 80% of the time) One of the reasons I love fallout 3 and skyrim to a point is that you can really see the R in RPG. Normally I wouldnt care in a game thats focused on action first but in the steam store page itself the devs tagged it as "RPG" and "choices matter". just a small rant. besides some open world bloat and a few redundant or repetitive systems its a great game. still kinda early on in the story but so far I give it a low 8 out of 10 personally because of the story.

I will redo this review if the story changes in any way and for certain once I finish the story and the sidecontent but I really dont see anything improving story wise from here on out so I feel confident in this review at this time

game is still in development as of this review.

I can strongly recommend this game even as its in early access. The gunplay feels smooth and precise even at range and all weapons are deadly (1-2) shots. Squad play and communication are essential because of the lack of hud markers. youll have to work together to communicate enemy locations as well as coordinating movement with the limited ping feature. The game overall is very realistic and requires time to get adjusted but once you do and learn to always communicate with your squad, youll have some of the most rewarding gameplay in a first person shooter Ive ever had personally.

There is also a heavy emphasis on armored combat and tanks can turn the field of battle quickly. Tank combat is also realistic for example as the driver youll need to manually shift gears and you have very little sight to work with. Youll need to rely on the commander for spotting where to go. As is with the rest of the game youll have to constantly communicate with the other crewmembers to be effective.

After 1000+ hours of Skyrim on PS3 and 200 more hours with Skyrim standard and SE combined, This is one of my most played games of all time. Special Edition is worth the price for the base game plus the rest of the DLC . Skyrim is a great game in almost all respects especially from an RPG standpoint. There are almost unlimited things to do and nearly unlimited ways to approach each situation from magic to sword combat to archery. The only thing I would wish SE had is the massive modding community like the original game has. All the bug memes and bad company prctices these days aside, Skyrim truly stands alone as one of the greatest games of our time

A bit of a preface. Ive played N64 smash for 200+ hours with friends and Gamecube smash for about as much time. After playing for a few hours and getting to know the game through mostly the buff fish dude I can say its a well done game.

Pros: seems to be well coded and balanced well. The combos are satisfying and just like N64 smash there is some cheese to be had which adds to the fun when playing against people online. Also its nice that while the game is still being worked on, the game is at a reduced price (USD $7 at the time of writing this)

Cons: It does take some getting used to with an xbox 360 controller with there being 3 different buttons for attacks (light, heavy, special) and also not being able to use control stick up to jump but after only a few hours of playtime I think Im pretty well acclimated. Im also not a big fan of the menu/theme song but I have to say the Final Destination level has a kickass metal song and most of the levels have cool music as well. I would complain about the small roster but the game is still in prgress and it looks like there are already a few more characters than when the game came out. All in all there isnt really too much to complain about, i.e these are small issues.

TLDR: Underneath the wacky and hilarious exterior (imagine a buff platypus/fish thing that all his moves are based off dumbells and body builder poses) Its a great platform fighter that plays similar to N64 Smash Bros with the in-air dodges and charge attacks from Melee. Definitely worth a buy especially at 7 bucks at the time of this review.

One of the best games I have ever played by far. Its sad to see it go, it had so much going for it until it was abandoned. The community is still alive and well so there is still something going for it, but the servers could be down for good at any time. Hopefully someone will pick it up in the future I would love to see that. Farewell Hawken.
