It is most certainly not an easy game, and it requires a lot more thought fore very action than I initially had placed into them. Expansion must be thought out in advance, and precise balancing required. It's certainly not for everyone, but the game is well-polished and very interesting. It currently lacks an expansive technology system, with it being very easy to reach the end of the tech tree early on (and then you only receive repeating authority bonuses). Overall, I do recommend the game.

It's quite different from A Legionary's Life (and it does not pretend to be otherwise) and it took an acclimatisation phase to get used to, but, after it was passed, it became a very good game.

My first experience (still in the demo) was being utterly and completely confused by everything going on. I lost the second battle (failed to reach objectives) and had no idea why. Over time, and after paying better attention to the UI and tutorial, I found myself understanding the way combat works, and rather enjoying it. The demo is long enough for you to be able to decide whether the Century combat system works for you or not, it is very generous. After it, I bought the game and finished the campaign (at least as far as is available).

The game is overall quite nice, but I must say that playing it for a long time does get quite annoying because of the constant interruptions of single combat when you are attacking by your notable legionaries and officers, it really can slow the pace of the game to a crawl - I don't care about killing a single guy when we are already destroying the enemy, just let me get done with it!

Patiently awaiting the release of new chapters

Is it janky? Yes. Is it annoying sometimes? Certainly. Does it need some more time in the oven for some aspects? Most definitely. Is it fun to play, nonetheless? YES!
This is my favourite Paradox launch experience to date, very good job, Mr. Johan!

Very fun sandbox. The newest update completely overhauled the "game".

It's an absolutely great game with no equals: That's the most succinct way of putting it. It genuinely is the single (at least that I know) game in the (title WIP) "Epic City State Simulator" genre. It scratches absolutely every itch for me; from the diplomacy, to the city management, I cannot spot a flaw.

Flyout, as it is, is an absolutely amazing game for a very small portion of the population (a portion in which I am included). It lacks any extrinsic motivation for plane building; there is no career mode, multiplayer mode, or AI planes, save for a simplistic drone at which to shoot missiles, there is very little in the way of QoL features (as many point out, it even lacks an undo button for the editor, which has been a near universal cause of frustration), and is still rather buggy. These, along with the decently complex (though not as difficult as many are making it out to be) editor put many people away. I'd argue, however, that the true divider of waters is not the lack of QoL, but the very concept of this game itself, or rather, what differentiates it from other "plane-building" games: The freedom of design.

Though quality of life in this game truly is awful, you very quickly (3-15 hrs in, depending on the person [KEEP IN MIND: it will take longer to get use to the complexities of Flyout than the refund window permits, to buy this game is a commitment {at least if you care about your money} to put in enough hours to begin to understand it, therefore, I recommend deciding on it *before* buying the game]) learn the complexities and workarounds of the systems and can actually begin making things of which you are actually proud. These complexities are nothing more than tradeoffs for the near-absolute freedom this game allows you, you simply cannot have the level of design input you have here without some considerable drawbacks, so, as I proposed in the beggining, the fundamental questions are: "Do you want all this freedom?" and "Are you willing to put in the time to learn the necessary things in order to exercise that freedom?". If the answer to those two question are "Yes", then this game is for you; if the answer to them both are "No", then you should probably look for a more hands-on plane-builder; if the answer to the first one is "Yes", but to the second is "No", then, quite simply, the game you desire simply cannot exist, as no QoL would ever simplify this game to the point where learning it would not be a pretty decent time-sink; if the answer to the first is "No" and to the second "Yes", who are you?

Pretty good game. You do need to learn LUA, but that's actually not very hard. I was able to make a few well-functioning games within a couple hours of buying RG, even though I had no LUA or programming experience at all prior. It's a great way to learn coding while also having fun. Of course, it'll take a pretty long while to learn enough to make anything more advanced than a simple game like pong or flappy-bird, but it's honestly a really cool way to learn.
