This is one of my favorite games, if the total hours played wasn't a big enough clue. The design, story, and game play is fantastic, as well as the soundtrack. I'm not someone who normally likes to listen to soundtracks, especially instrumental ones, but I've actually gone and bought a copy of the gorgeous vinyl edition they have. I also find the balance between the rogue-like and resource management mechanics to be superb; going in, I didn't have much experience playing rogue-likes, and it was super obvious. I sucked, of course. But if you're decent at either of the major mechanics, the game is set up where you can lean into what you're good at to build up and get over hurdles. I play a stupid amount of sim/strategy/civilization games, so I was able to go in and mostly focus on building my cult, which unlocked more powerful options for my crusades that I could use to get through speed bumps caused by skill issues.

Love the consistent updates and just everything about the game, 100/10, I always recommend it to everyone.
