absolutely awesome game. look up any gameplay video and let it convince you

that not enough? well, let me lay it out for you: you have an amazing beard, a pickaxe, an assortment of weapons, and creepy spiders to kill so you can get at the ores deep in the ground. still not convinced? the season system is great and lets you choose any season, the weapons are insanely unique, the mods for them are awesome, and there's so many wild combos with abilities (known as perks) that you can manage. the game is awesome. BUY IT, FOR ROCK AND STONE

absolutely awesome game. the live rendered countour lines is AMAZING technology to see, and inclusion of a topo map is absolutely awesome, paired with the waypoints, it all makes the game fluid and smooth

now that's what sets the stage for the headliner bit: custom designed rovers for literally ANYTHING.

there's nothing more fun than accepting a new job, realising you have no clue how to pick up the thing or move it at all aside from pushing it, and that it's time to up your game, going into the vehicle designer, and reworking it to be perfect.

the controls edit is awesome and i'm not sure if it's possible but i'd love to see per-part specific overrides, like in the edit controls button have a "set these as default controls for this part" next to the "ok" button in the modify screen, since i like my hydraulic pistons to retract on right click due to the mnemonic "right-retract" making memorisation easier. that said, editing is pretty trivial

also speaking of editing and design, you can make some absolutely wild rovers, like i made one that has 3 axles, and the center one is attached to the rover's main block, the center two are on sets of dual double springs (2 next to one another, 2 long), and all the wheels are on pistons to widen the wheel base for steep cliffs, and the front wheels have a servo on there so they can spin to flip the thing over, and get unstuck in rough terrain, i call the thing Springload and the thing can scale entire mountains

which speaking of mountains, the terrain in this game is so well designed and so awesome, every mission feels like a sort of unique challenge navigating because all it gives you is an "as the crow flies" line, and you need to plot a course around mountains according to your design's limits.

and not to mention the items, every one feels unique making the missions feel varied and challenging.

overall this game is so awesome and here's the best part: it runs FLAWLESSLY on Linux, and it's super optimised, 120+FPS in the highest graphics setting with my RTX 3080 with Linux Mint.

oh and the soundtrack is super neat too, feels just so nice when playing, but it's non intrusive enough you can even play your own music over it, and have no issues if you don't silence the in game music.

absolutely love this game so much, gonna make all my friends get it so we can play together lmfao

Alixian: great game, decent to make friends on, game's been out so long the community is full of chill people and most of the sweats and tryhards are long gone. pretty commonly updated, ~2-3 times a year if i had to guess. worth buying some of the little cosmetic whatevers to support the devs if you play a while.

great game, simple, clean, knows what it is and does it damn well. 10/10

absolutely awesome demo! super fun, the movement feels nice, and really fluid, and i love the progression of unlocking components you bring back permanently

a few points of improvement:
- turn up the default master volume! it's criminal that it's only 50% with such amazing sound design
- allow weapons brought back to be unlocked permanently and/or a way to start the mission with them
- add a way to start with more materia when missions start, perhaps with upgrades that cost credits, or simply add the ability to start with certain modules given to you, or weapons, point being to add a way to start with more player gear too
- add some credits dropping from on foot enemies, have it be a chance of that or materia from killed enemies, to help with progression
- maybe add a small skill tree with slight perks like damage resistance or damage bounceback, maybe make it space suit specific to help people spec into what they like and make the suits more meaningful
- add a jet drive dash on foot ability, either as default or in a skill tree, i noticed myself using the jet drive to get closer to doors and such, and to get myself up over ledges sometimes, just some sort of dash ability for more movement to close distance would be awesome
- maybe add some sort of codex system for finer details of weapons and to note story things?

major wins:
- the feel of the game is awesome, and the simple MK# system is really good
- the credits are nice and simple, and the ability to choose starting loadout for your ship is awesome
- the space suits are really cool, and while they could use more explanation, the difference is small, but noticeable between the standard and combat suits (i didn't try the others yet)
- the art style is really cool, very reminiscent of No Man's Sky
- the ship layout is really nice, not a lot of dead space and it's immersive, with no trickery or anything, like the thing is fully modeled with the interior and exterior being all continuous and it feels really nice
- the tooltips for install points and such are really handy, especially in high tension chaos
- the fire extinguishers working and having actual mount points feels really nice and i found it very amusing when i first had a fire
- the scanner system is really neat, it's not something i expected but it works really well, having to manually scan things for more info, makes it feel more realistic, and i'd love to see it expanded upon, maybe add higher tiers having a chance to reveal materia-rich asteroids you can mine for materia, or maybe have one specially designed to find weak points in enemy ships

also, the game runs awesome on my Linux computer, i'm running Linux Mint 22 with Proton 9, and i got 30-50 fps on average, highs of 55 ish and lows of 20s on my RTX 3080, so slight optimizations would be appreciated but for a demo that's already pretty good, and the game still feels really nice, even at lower FPS

overall this is an insanely impressive demo, and i'm very excited for the full game release, which i will be buying, props to you Keepsake Games, i have high hopes, and no doubt y'all can deliver

p.s.: please don't add some ea-esque eula that lets you take the game away, it's a P2P game, not an mmo

Early Access Review
to start off: this game is everything i wished pokemon legends arceus was and could have been, it feels like arceus is just a scammy rip off of this game, so nintendo, go cry about the fact Pocket Pair made a similar game that you were to afraid to, and that everyone hoped you would. they beat you to it, time to take the loss and go home, along with your lawyers and lawsuits, Pocket Pair's in the right here.

and with that, onto the rest of it: this game is massive while being both polished and passionate, something you only find one or the other of in this price range and at this scale. there's mod friendliness, lots of it in fact, and i have seen nothing but creative wonder put into this game.

for faults, some of the pathing is a bit buggy, there's a sort of "ghost pal" that does and doesn't exist (it's a Daedream, my first one) and follows me around at all times, so sure, there's some bugs, but they're mild and don't damage the experience any, just something to chuckle at sometimes.

this game is a one of a kind wonder that pulls inspiration from the best parts of various games, ark, pokemon, and all while in an art style reminiscent of genshin impact that brings a sort of cute wonder to this game. it runs wonderful on Linux, with only some mild input issues, mind you, ones that i've seen in many other games (holding a key while in a loading menu causes it to not send input until released and re-pressed being one).

i cannot recommend this game enough and while i was hesitant to buy it due to many people speculating it'd just be a blinding flash in the pan, i can see the dedication to this game and i'm only about 7 hours in at time of review, and i am more than happy i bought it.

if you feel like pokemon's gotten stale, ark's a bit too hard and complicated, genshin isn't your speed, your inner child needs a brief respite from life, or maybe you just want to see what the Palpagos Islands are like, buy this game, it's worth every penny.

simple fun little factory game. like Satisfactory but lighter and more simple ish. kind of an idle game, so don't expect a ton, but there is some story. very unique little indie game.

super fun game, arguably one of the best this year, the soundtrack is a MUST HAVE too. great style too, very unique and defining.

if you like driving sims, open world games, or space games, but want something that's not racing and instead doing hauling and story missions, pick this up. totally worth it, especially on sale. it's kinda simple on the surface, but still really fun and really enjoyable and a great game to chill on if you're comfortable with space navigation, but it gets more complex due to the hazard system and the maintaining of certain systems on your rig. if you want a challenge, turn off the driving assist to up the difficulty and make it a true sim experience. turns things up a notch. that said, here's some key points that make this a great game:
1: full 6dof, turns difficulty up a ton
2: customizable difficulty with 5 options making it very fun for anyone
3: solid gameplay loop with some great story rolled in
4: chill and relaxing and once you get established it gets really really fun to play for hours on end
5: AWESOME SOUNDTRACK

game also runs fine on Linux Mint 22, i recommend fullscreen windowed (full screen exclusive has an alt+tab allergy) and using Proton 9 as with Proton Experimental you get less frames. that said the game could definitely use some optimization to boost framerates in the first place

my only criticisms are as follows:
1: it's not entirely optimized and suffers from pretty low frames, lower than i'd expect.
2: the driving manual needs improvement because some of the ways the game seems to calculate things like careful driving are a bit wonky and not entirely clearly stated, only offhandedly mentioned in the mock contracts you accept in the job boards in game, and could use some clearing up in the driving manual in game as it's not explained what constitutes "good driving".

gotta be one of the best indie games i've ever bought, and it WILL make time disappear on you. i thought i'd been playing maybe an hour. NOPE, 3 HOURS, it's awesome. BUY IT. also it frequently goes on sale for $21 USD, nab it on a sale if you're tryna save. super dope game, especially for something in early access. absolutely awesome.

praise aside, my only gripe is that they make the grappling hook unlock a lot sooner. and i highly recommend focusing on research, at least until you get the grappling hook, absolute game changer. also the build mechanics are cool, and nice, i'd only say they could try and normalize to a bit of a tile/snapping system, even a slight one so you can align things to the edges of the train and stuff better.

also Linux support is awesome, solid 100-120FPS with Proton 9 on max graphics with a 12th gen intel chip, EVGA RTX 3080, and 48GB of RAM with good NVMEs in my build. runs fluid.

super dope indie game, even in early access. buy it now, it's worth it.

absolutely fantastic game.

i originally bought it back on Xbox right when the NEXT update dropped and it became available there. had my eye on it for a while before that too, and when i did, i was immediately blown away. i finished all the quests and main stories before even the Visions update, and a good chunk before Abyss. then a couple years ago i got a gaming PC and used the MS store version of the game to transfer my save to PC, then i bought it here on Steam and used GoatFungus' Save Editor to transfer everything, so i'm running the same save. this same save has over 450 hours, around 350 of which were on console, the rest split between ms store and Steam PC versions

i say all this to get to the point: i've been around quite a while.

and that while has been some of the most awe inspiring, freeing, enjoyable, fun, chaotic, and even existential moments that i've found in pretty much any game. this game has evolved so much in that time, and i've been blown away, and Sean has fulfilled almost all the original promises he made for this game, and continues to go above and beyond. this game is awesome, and has been awesome, and i love it. it's worth every penny, and that's before we count how often it goes on sale. it's an amazing game and i highly recommend it to anyone with even a mild interest in space games, space exploration, building, companion adoption, starship building, story crafting, or any of the near limitless, wild fun that this game has to offer. it's an awesome game and deserves all the awards, praise, and attention it's gotten.

and since i'm a Linux gamer: it runs perfect on Linux, just run Proton Experimental if you're on Linux Mint.

absolutely awesome game and i've been waiting to review it for a while, and Worlds Part 1 has been the turning point for me to finally put into words how awesome this game is, and i can't wait for Worlds Part 2.
