It's an okay vessel for chatting with the homies while you all do something together. But your choices for gameplay are snooze fest and "go ♥♥♥♥ yourself if you want to use 90% of the available weapons and gear, and we will nerf any non assault rifle that's viable into the dirt"

The game is fun if you and your friends already have it and want to mess around for an evening. The longer you play it however, the more problems the game has. In particular if you play the story. To the point where I'd say actually beating the game is a true regret I earned in life.

Dont let the aesthetics fool you. This is a fighting game based entirely around footsies. I took too long of a gap to really keep up, but if you just watch a youtube video of gameplay and like what you see, it's worth trying out.

I've spent hundreds of hours trying to figure out how to find fun playing Pathfinder Kingmaker and Wrath of the Righteous. Rogue Trader has proven my theory that Owlcat is a great developer, but the pathfinder 1e system and setting were holding them back. You have the insanely interesting world of 40k, an interesting take on a "morality" system, and interesting, well thought out encounters. I can see myself playing through at least 3 times, plus more if I complete them before the next season of dlc comes out. The tutorial/introductory area alone changed me from being worried Owlcat is secretly a mid dev to being excited about literally any project they produce(unless they return to Pathfinder 1e).

If you dont have a long time player online with you then I imagine getting into this game would be nightmarish and genuinely detrimental to your mental health. Just wrapping your head around how terrible the new user experience is becomes so mindnumbing; You almost dont notice how whatever is left of the story is shown to you in such a schizophrenic way, it'd be easier to decipher the Zodiac letters. This is all still true if you have a long time player online with you, it's just funny to repeatedly make them go through the stages of grief for whatever the game used to be.

Gameplay is okay; Guns feel as good as you'd expect from devs vaguely related to the Halo series when it was good. Movement feels pretty ass considering how much of the game is running around. If it werent from a AAA dev, I'd say it's a knockoff Warframe with better guns and much worse spells and movement. It is free though, so it wont hurt to try it if you want. And unlike Warframe, you wont risk becoming a Warframe player.

600 dollars to get access to all content. Currently pushing out new patches while a bug that makes the game unplayable for over half the factions in the game remains. The game is currently on sale, do not buy it. This is a pattern of negligent behavior. Frankly I would suggest never buying a CA again until they prove they can be trusted to maintain the games they make.

Even on a 50% sale you will be getting ripped off. Between all the dlc and the absolute jank that didn't get fixed from the first game you get an absolutely beautiful game that takes years away from your life loading that's extremely fun if/when it works. The campaign level stuff has decent variety but every faction will become tedious within 20 turns. The base campaign of the game also revolves around a core mechanic that does not take into account how your "rivals" are so far across the map you will literally never see them if you don't make a point to do so.

All in all, much like the first game, the second game is essentially dlc for the latest game that has the most improvements. It can certainly be fun on its own, but do not get it for anything less than a 75 percent discount if you don't have hundreds of dollars to throw around on getting the base game+dlc.

Fun, Creative, Exactly what it says on the tin. Do yourself a favor if you have an hour free and play this little gem.

All games are fun with friends. Without friends this game is absolute garbage. Terrible netcode, godawful combat, grindy base gameplay, and such bad multiplayer balancing you'd think a US senator wrote the code. It can look pretty and that's about all the positives this game has if you don't have friends to play with.
