really good and polished game. just wish it was a bit longer

im 7h in and have barely scratched the surface, this is how it should be and NO microtransactions!

ive only played like 1,5h but its already amazing. hands down the best arcade racer ive played in a long time.

was a great game. i played through the whole story but then it startet to glitch on mimirs boat voicelines which resulted in a crash. okay, updated the gpu drivers and now i cant even get past the main menu... steams verification process is also broken for this game as it peaks at 5mb/s resulting in a 3,5h verification process when games like doom get verified in under 10mins with a verification speed past 100mb/s. i dont know how devs can break a game beyond the main menu but they did it. until then i cant recommend a game that cant be played for absolutely no reason.

update:
i got the game working with a reinstall if the whole thing. im just amazed that the validation of the files didnt repair anything. i always got a single file to replace but it never got repaired.


another update i want to make after playing more of the endgame content:

the combat has some HUGE problems especially in certain challenges like the muspelheim "impossible" trials... there is a very easy reason why theyre called impossible, thats because they almost are. the problem with that is that 99% of failure doesnt feel like it was the players fault. there are challenges where youre not allowed to get hit once but things like uncancellable animations from kratos where youre still able to get hit paired with enemy attacks that have way shorter animations than kratos. you can start an animation and watch an enemy attack you from start to finish while being locked out of control. way too many things feel a bit too unresponsive for challenging combat which results in beating certain enemys or challenges not feeling like an accomplishment but like luck giving you the favor for once.

you should still buy the game because its really good but be prepared for some extreme frustration every once in a while. (unless youre able to beat dark souls without leveling or items)

its beautiful.

its fun, pretty and you just want to play it over and over again with its great artstyle.

i do have two problems with the game tho:

1. the occasional unpredicteable big jump that throws you out of the track and gives you a 5sec penalty

2. the (in my opinion) too slow steering speed that gets your car uncontrollable if you dont slow down because you just swing from left to right until you do so. its basically still steering a bit even if your controller stick is already in the center again which makes the car overcorrect sometimes. this simply results in the car overcorrecting coming out of a slide wich sends you into another slide that gets overcorrected and so on. i generally dislike it when games dont translate controller input 1 to 1 to steering angle and puts some layer inbetween that slows down the steering speed or limits steering angle based on speed (like in forza) since i feel like the game takes some control away from me but maybe thats just me.

even tho i wrote this block of text on one of the problems i have with the game i still love it and you will too!

best game ever made. if you dont spend 69h in it that means youre gay.
