Early Access Review
I've spent about 300 hours in this game trying everything I could to get my moneys worth out of it. It's one of those kind of games where you instantly regret buying it but in an effort to justify the time and money that you have already spent, you just keep playing. Save yourself the trouble and don't bother playing it in the first place.

There is not a single system in the game that actually works properly. I know most early access games are full of bugs but that would be an understatement for this one. The only PVE aspect of this game is trying to avoid randomly dying due to a physics bugs. The ships rubberband so much that you can expect to die at least once per minute unless you are on the helm or attached to another one of the dismally few options for ship components. The performance is horrible, especially in lower level zones since everyone makes half of a ship and then just abandons it when they realize they would rather be doing literally anything else.

When you aren't fighting the bugs or performance issues you get to square up against a slew of poor design choices. Everything from combat logging to balancing issues, respawning, the crew system, pvp, gathering, the tech tree, chat, crafting, building, there isn't a single aspect of this game that feels like it works like it should.

You know those kick-ass glider sequences in the trailer, with the epic music, cool camera angles and voice overs? OK, picture that but instead its only you because the glider only works about half the time so half your team just fell to their death and is busy trying to craft new gliders or relogging to see if maybe they will work this time. One guy is restarting the game 17 times because he is stuck at an infinite loading screen after respawning, You made it to the ground but the glider bug caused your character to ragdoll and spend 30 seconds rolling down a shallow angled hill until you fall to your death. All that with no epic music and the only voice is the one in your head wondering why you bought this game. You can safely take that example and apply it to everything in this game

I really don't want this review to be just 100% salt but I honestly can't think of anything in this game that is deserving of praise other than maybe the general premise. Build and fight airships and explore player made sky islands. It's a great idea so I guess it has that going for it. Oh! And it's a really great game for those collectors who buy steam games and never play them. There, see? not all salt, I found one and a half things the game does right and it only took 300 hours.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this game unless it's on sale and you are trying to punish yourself for something.
