Wow, a free edit voucher. F*** off and make it a normal part of the game.

Already High Rank 100 to finally give final review about the base game with no DLC so far. Wilds is fun, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ does this game run like ♥♥♥♥. This entry also feels much less ambitious than Worlds, where it should be building on it but feels more like add some things and take some things. Low rank is probably the worst in the series as how on rails the story is and not letting you explore and get to the boss fights yourself.

I recommend getting Worlds or Rise with their DLC atm since they are full complete games that have been patched already. Come back to Wilds when the expansion releases.

Devs don't put any effort into actually improving the game.

Early Access Review
I backed this game because I found the thought of Wind Waker Kiki Delivery service to be very charming. I just love small cute indie platformers like this, and I wanted this game to have a chance like when I backed A Hat in Time.

As for the game itself, it's quite a straightforward game in just delivering items across the whole island, but slowly you unlock faster methods of travel making the deliveries easier. The flying itself is quite nice and easy to control, reminds me a bit of Journey. There's a small bit of a collectathon aspect to it that is not mandatory, but you can collect to get outfits. The good part is, the secret items are shown on the map and will let you know if you are still missing anything in an area.

There is one major downside to the game is that there is a small subplot that ends up never coming back, which could've led to a great finale. This ends up also being another issue in that the game really has no difficulty and is very easy.

The story itself is very simple in a young girl maturing to find her place, the witch position just being her motivator of a goal to reach. The characters in the story are fairly basic NPCs, but there's a bit of charm to some of their designs and personalities.

The game isn't long and you can beat in an evening of 4-6 hrs depending on how much you are rushing or exploring every nook and cranny. I think if you like light-hearted platformer type games, this is a pleasant game to spend a night beating.

(edit)

Game has continued to drop some nice updates to further increase what you can do for fun in this world and with its mechanics. The new 3 dungeon update is prob the best so far, with a worthy reward for those who finally want free flight.

Worst is everyway from the beta. Grindier for character unlocks so it incentivizes you to pay2play. Plays much worse, slow as hell so it's not even fun to play. Boring as hell to watch.

They took the game down once before, so don't invest in this game as they at anytime can take it down again when the community number dips due to how abysmal this game is now.

Smug hat kid. Happy I backed this game so long ago.

Fun platformer with a lot of community modding for continued longevity.

MHRise was just hit with DRM addition. Letting Capcom know to keep that malware out of here. MH:Wilds will be a no buy from me if Capcom still wants to fight their customers.

Improves everything from the first game, more fun bosses, less adds, all the loot and fun builds to discover.

Got this game from backing it on Kickstarter. Did not get to actually finishing the game until recently due to prior backlog. I don't know anything about the previous Mara game, but I backed this only due to it looking cute and wanting to play more platformers. The final product is pretty good.

There's not much of a story as it is seems to be a last minute addition. As for the main importance of gameplay, I find it is pretty fun and responsive though I do have one major complaint. The default walk speed is too slow to do anything useful so you will always be running, and having the timed roll for speed running be on the same button as running seems very stupid considering that there are many available buttons to use. You end up getting use to it though as the button is right next to your jump to just press together. The aesthetics and music both fit its very positive, good feels environment it has going. It doesn't have anything particularly memorable in terms of music but it does its job. The stages themselves look pretty good though that and its level design do follow the generic "Worlds" game design, but it's not really an issue for the genre imo. You get ice slippery levels, hot lava level which has the Mario jump disappearing platform mechanic, and some other worlds.

Koa is not a hard or long game, but has a atmosphere of lighthearted cheerfulness to just spend the night getting through. It's a pretty cheap game too looking at its current price, but if you want a chill game and have time to wait for a sale I recommend picking this up.
