Ghost Recon Wildlands is the open world Ghost recon games fans were waiting for. Taking the tactical realistic combat of previous entries and transitioning that into an open world where ops can be seamless, and done in a way the player prefers. Unfortunately Wildlands doesn't nail this formula, and leaves us an uninspired game with some serious issues.

The main pain points of the experience are (of course) the ubisoft formula. A massive open world that is visually very nice, but incredibly sparse. Then there is the uninspired base infiltration which is 80% of the game, and has been done to death. (and done way better) So, combine a large open world with terrible vehicle control feel, and the same 5 tasks repeated 100's of times (not a joke), Then spread that experience out for I'd say about a 60 hour experience and you've got Wildlands. Truly one of the most boring games I've ever played. Wildlands is a below average 4/10

Bulletstorm is a damn fun game. Is its level design dated?.. yeah. Is it crude? Of course. But the general gameplay, addicting trickshot system, and replayability makes Bulletstorm a damn good time. If your a fan of shooters, this is gem. A damn good 8/10

Tried the game for about 5 matches. Tried to like the game, but this aint it. Bad optimization, an unneeded looting system, and strong aim assist for console players. Its basically the definition of a buzzword game. LOOT, ABILITIES, MOUNTS, SHADOW DROP, MOVEMENT SHOOTER, BASE RAIDING. Highgaurd is a generic mass appeal hero shooter, with a MOBA formula minus the items.

Gameplay feels generally decent, movement has a flow and guns have good animations and feedback. And thats about the end of the good. For the bad we have multiple glaring issues. There are some weird aiming issues. Other games I play I have no issue with mouse movements, but for some reason this game has the same problem apex has with my inputs feeling off. Then when you get into fights, mounts are frequently used to have enemy players leap around in all kinds of weird glitchy animations. Its just annoying and not fun to play against. Most guns feel underpowered and a few feel way to strong. When in 1v1 gunfights player models move around like they have no weight. Instant momentum transfers, WASD spam makes enemy players look like they are in a blender.

Maybe the reason I didnt have a good time was because I was solo queing against 3 stacks, but to be honest. None of my friends would download this game, and based off the time I spent with it. They are proven right, the game sucks. If you want a hero shooter, play Marval Rivals. If you want a Moba play Dota, or deadlock. They offer more depth, have actual unique gameplay, and aren't held down by multiple unfun gameplay decisions. Highguard is like a 4/10

I dont play this genre of game. I've never enjoyed this type of game. But.. Abiotic Factor is hands down the best survival crafting experience I've ever had, and thats due to one specific reason. The entire game is a curated experience. Every area builds and builds on the past in terms of enemies, crafting progression, and complexity. There is no procedural generation slop, just a handcrafted experience from top to bottom. I am so impressed. Then combine all of this with a iconic recreation of the Black Mesa facility as the cherry on top. And you've got something special. In my eyes Abiotic Factor is a must play game 10/10

Borderlands 3, the infamous sequel to one of the best looter shooters of all time. Developed by gearbox BL3 does a lot right in terms of the gunplay, and the variety of locations compared to previous entries. This is the first game in the series to venture outside of the planet pandora, and a lot of the new locations are interesting. The vault hunters in BL3 also fit into more predefined gameplay styles than previous titles, which was a nice touch. However there is a reason some fans of the series have disowned this title, and while I understand the core frustrations. I still think BL3 does enough right to be an experience worth your time. Let me explain. (If you want the short version skip to the last paragraph)

There is one major problem with the base game of BL3, and that is the writing/story. Cringy doesnt even come close to what this writing is. Unfunny, plentaful, and unskippable. A killer combo. When talking to friends and other fans of the franchise the recommendation is to turn the dialog volume to zero and enjoy. I was able to endure, because I wanted to experience what all the hype was about. I can confirm that they were right.

Another aspect of BL3 that fans werent happy about was the fact that this game showers you in legendary loot. In previous games you'd be lucky to find 1 legendary on your first playthrough. In BL3 you'll be fully equipped with legendary gear by the end of your first playthrough. While this game was fantastic for the casual single playthrough kind of gamer. This basically killed the value of legendary loot for more traditional Borderlands fans who wanted to grind out all the unique legendary rewards.

Besides for those negatives. BL3 is actually an extremely fun level based looter shooter, with semi open world segments. Good boss fights, exciting build crafting, and a decent endgame that pushes the limit of your characters build. With a meaty 30+ hour story mode, you really are getting good value out of the package. Plus the DLC's are great. Overall I enjoyed my time playing and I would recommend the game, even with its downsides. Cringy writing can be subjective, and getting showered with loot is fun for some. Just not all. Thats why I am giving Borderlands 3 a good 7/10

Elden Ring Nightreign is the Roguelike spin-off of the massive hit Elden Ring. While the size and scope of this title is def. not as large as Elden Ring. What you end up getting in this package is well worth the price. However that does not mean that Elden Ring Nightreign is perfect. From someone who has played a lot of the Roguelike genre, there are things that are missing from this package that hurt the overall replay value.

Specifically the verity from run to run. Once you figure out the "optimal" route to take through the map. Its pretty much the same template for success each run. Castle day 1. then shifting earth event, or world boss clearing day 2. While spending time with the game early on was more dynamic because you had to figure out how to best spend your time. After figuring out how to be optimal, the experience becomes rather repetitive. The issue compounds when you see the same 3 different bosses pop up for certain locations on the map. The only real exemptions are the Evergaols (which are tierd and have 9 possibilities) and the boss at the top of the castle. With shifting earth events, once you've done the event once. You kind of know what to expect every time going into it. With such a large pool of bosses to chose from in the souls series. Its kind of crazy that only a true few appear in the final product. However this could change in the future with additional QOL changes. So we will see.

The changes I'd like to see is more dynamic maps with more verity, and less predictability each run, or more dynamic build options when playing to give that extra layer of depth (passive/active weapon buffs with more interesting options). Additionally a more robust relic system would be nice as well. I've seen earning currency after every run and using that to upgrade (In this instance relics) may be a good system. Because as of right now, relic RNG is kinda of brutal to grind out the perfect relic.

Moving onto things Elden Ring Nightreign does well. I really enjoy how fast paced each run feels. Providing a feeling of making every second matter, and forcing your team to race against the clock to complete objectives. This creates a high intensity match, and that is fun! I also enjoy the different character archetypes on offer here. Each having their strengths and weaknesses. While some I feel may be slightly over tuned, I really don't mind. It is fun to use a class to the maximum of its ability. Another aspect is the bosses. As usual Fromsoft has knocked this part of the experience out of the ballpark. The gauntlet offered here will be a test of skill for your entire party, and serve as a great challenge to overcome.

To summerize, Elden Ring Nightreign is a great spinoff title with some small issues with its total replayability. However that still does not hold it back from being a fantastic time with friends, or solo with a recent update that was introduced. Additionally we are already seeing additional hard modes of bosses roll out, which only give you more of a reason to hop back in and do it all over again. 8/10 the Nightlords will be slain.

A fun third person shooter in the Warhammer universe. Not super long, and def needs a bit more verity. But its worth picking up if your a fan of the universe. I'd recommend picking up if on sale. It comes with a Single player campaign, a MP mode, and a Co-op mode. I didn't get to try the MP and Co-op parts of the experience, but what I did play was good. 7/10 a great time for a quick playthrough.

Mass Effect Andromeda is the start of a new trilogy in the Mass Effect Universe where we chart a course to explore a new galaxy. Specifically the Andromeda galaxy. Which I have to admit is a cool and interesting idea for the Mass Effect universe. However the concept would need to have good execution, which unfortunately Mass Effect Andromeda fails to execute in a rememberable way. While also showcasing the progression of aspects of the Mass effect series which no other game in the series has. Let me explain.

The story of Mass Effect Andromeda is an full stop failure. Failing to utilize the potential of a new galaxy, while dumbing down the complexities of the previous entries. Where the paragon renegade system was basic, the broader outcomes of decisions made in the story did have long term effects on the outcome of the finale. Where Mass Effect Andromeda forgoes this system for a feelings based approach. Ultimately removing the choice. Ultimately leading too the same outcome no matter what option is picked. This is not Mass Effect, and fails to live up to the series tradition. Then we come to an under utilized new setting. The potential for a new galaxy is massive, and to only have a select two new races to interact with was a major letdown. I was hoping for multiple new races with interesting politics and new dynamics. However what we got was two underdeveloped, and frankly rehashed races. Which is unfortunate. The story mainly relies on the previous races of the mass effect series to create most of the drama and plot beats of the story.

However Mass Effect Andromeda does do something which I was extremely surprised by. Specifically the gameplay. The team had a large focus on combat, and expanding the "RPG" aspects of the mass effect series. Multiple armor sets, a large verity of weapons, and abilities to select, and finally a robust set of open world levels. With two desert locations, one ice planet, and a jungle to explore. Combine all this with a free form cover system, and a large amount of enemy encounters to face. Mass Effect Andromeda actually has some legs to stand on. Another aspect of the improvements is the open world quest design. It is simple, and inspired by Witcher 3, and executed in a less interesting way. However the vision of exploring a open planet with things to do, and settlements to help is there. It hard to just write this off because this appears to be where the majority of the effort was put into this game, and there is some genuine artistic value in exploring these planets. It just sucks that the story is so bland.

And that brings us to the conclusion. Where the first three Mass Effect games were story with a side of gameplay. Mass Effect Andromeda swaps this for a healthy portion of open world gameplay, with a refined Mass Effect combat system, and a bland wet fart of a story. Which is a shame, because as a Mass Effect game its the exact inverse of what fans want. However its hard to not recognize the amount of hard work that was put into this games enviornments, and combat. Overall do I recommend Mass Effect Andromeda? Its hard to give a simple answer, but if you want more of mass effects story you'll be disappointed. If you want more mass effect combat, then this game will give you a decent amount of fun. 6/10 a good score, just hitting above the mediocre mark.
