Getting Lost Simulator 2023

I tried out one game on the demo first before choosing to buy the full game on sale. And for only $14.73 NZD, I feel like it's worth it. The shooting mechanics feel surprising decent for a budget title like this. Definitely recommend if you have friends to play with, but it's okay solo too.

For a free game, what's not to like?

Dark Souls but with a throwable spear. It's free so why not give it a try?

The game itself is pretty mediocre. But that alone isn't enough for me to post a review since I don't usually do reviews... but the developer just dropped a 4.6 GB patch to apparently update the game with new credits since a licensing agreement has ended. But because of this, old saves will no longer work and some users are also reporting lower FPS.

I get that games may lose content years later (like music) because of expired licenses but to lose access to saves like this is just not good enough.

The devs have tried to make it up to their fans by releasing a few low effort wallpapers which are screenshots of their upcoming game, and it's frankly just a slap to the face.

Constructively, better communication needs to have been given explaining why the update patch is so big in download size and also why saves are being lost even if the explanation ends up being technical.

Patch this game! What a disgrace!

Sure, it's free but it would still be worth a recommendation even if it wasn't.

This game really has no right to be as good or as engaging as it is. Best way to play it imo is with a Steam Controller with the two buttons touch mapped to the two pads to avoid having to mash your fingers and/or break your keyboard/mouse/controller keys/buttons.

I got this game as part of a Humble Bundle and was expecting it to be mediocre since it had a mixed rating on Steam but I didn't expect it to be bad (or at least not this bad). Combat is extremely repetitive and the game's presentation leaves a lot to be desired. Cut scenes made no sense and certain early game "gameplay" sequences seemed to have been shoehorned in to pad out the game's length. This game is only worth checking out if you got it as part of a games bundle like I did.
