I was able to get a key for this game. I was really curious about it and applied for one.
That being said I will give you a basis for my not recommending this title.

I told a friend what new games I'd been playing lately, and he asked me how Survive Isolation was in comparison to Ark when I mentioned it.

I told him that I was really excited for something like Ark but with pirates since I felt the ARK version was similar to my liking to the original with a few reskins.

So I told him that it's a single player, you're in a little island area, you go around looting it. It had a bunch of stuff on the ground and I was like “ooooh score!!” But found out after a moment that it was the SHOP! You can steal their stuff with no repercussions!

Looting:
When looting crates when one says to take all it will automatically in most games close the interaction. Which makes it for swift looting should you be chased or taking damage from an enemy.
You either in SI have to click ‘i’ or ‘tab’

Death.
If you die, you get kicked to the main menu and you can click continue where as Ark you respawn, grab your body and move on.

Crafting

I told him you can pick up stone which stacks, but you have to then turn that stone into sharpened stone and that doesn't stack! It takes 3 stone to make 1 sharp one.


Building.

You have to make a paper in order to craft, then you have to right mouse button it and get a scroll wheel of options to choose what you want.Which frustrated me more. One at a time vs where you can build a bunch of building materials, have them stack and build. Snapping with ease and you can REMOVE something if it is placed incorrectly or wonky.


With all these negatives piling up made me frustrated and closed out of the game. And my friend said that “ yeah i was looking at that game and wanted to give it a try, but if it frustrated you, imagine how I’d be with it.” He has like 3k+ hours on Ark and I have almost 2k.

If some of the things were fixed that I have mentioned, then I’d try it out again to see if things have gotten better. I have played games like Rust, Ark, and 7 days to die to name but a few and why I’m giving it such a critical review.

This popped up on Keymailer, I was intrigued. Lots of friends play Animal Crossing, but I never played Animal Crossing. But, the hastag of it being spooky had be very curious!

alright, so before my little rant here is what i noticed in the game.

It felt like i was playing a lalafell from ff14.
very cute animals.
Some parts yes creepy
some parts nifty
some parts wtf.
it was a little clunky in the movement
but it got the job done.

I played it and it was nice and cool and then BOOM! Within the first minute or less the first death. Which is alright as i expected it from the spooky tag.
I noticed some of the choices i could choose were forced on me and made me feel like it was something that P.E.T.A would make game wise if they weren't trying to be edgy like when they tried using Pokemon as a way to further their propaganda.
I might upload the video onto my youtube so people can experience it also. But it did feel like the game was trying to disguise the vegan propaganda.

I understand that they want to bring the topic about their views out but it felt like it was being crammed down my throat and I do eat meat, but not all the time. I've raised cattle and other animals and have respect for where my food comes from. I try and get my food from ethical sources whenever possible. I try not to buy my meat at places like walmart and such because you can smell the fear of the animal had before slaughter. If they werne't trying so hard to ham fist their ideals and actually try and educate people potentially so they actually care about where their food comes from then i wouldn't have been turned off from the game. I dunno, I have mixed feelings about the game to be honest. The ending left me not liking it as again one of the forced options. Like its either you are a cold hearted meat eater or the preferred plant based. I was respectful of all the animals, didnt do anything mean, and did what i had to and yeah.. I dont want to give the game away for those who want to give it a go.

But as humans we are omnivores and need both to live. Not everyone can be 100% vegan due to allergies or dietitary restrictions. I'm a celiac and lactose intolerant so, honestly, Im giving up a lot as it is. I dont eat meat daily, I dont eat veggie daily but i have a healthy mixture of both.

I love this game, is great! the story is just amazing haha.
I play it once or twice a year and stream it. Always a good play through :D
wished it had full controller support though but oh well :D

From what i experienced i was enjoying what little of the game was there before i got a glitch after looking for the bucket forever!
then after having to reload from said glitchy bucket, the stupid thing never spawned after that! I rebooted a few time and honestly it wasn't a great streaming experience. The world feels a little lack lustre and bare.
At the start I was like " what do i do? I guess walk... that way?? Alright"
There is show and tell story telling and then there is just not giving much to keep you motivated to keep going. What i saw from the trailer to what I experienced didnt really match up well in my opinion.
The dialog felt stiff and if you die or have to restart for whatever reason ( for me it was glitchy or never appearing bucket!) you have to sit through cut scenes you've seen before that just get annoying from how slow it is :/

I was given a code for this game. I didn't think it'd be my jam. But holy hell. I have streamed this and also put the video of me playing it on my youtube. Its a game that I don't normally play, but i was enjoying myself completely. I am very happy to have been given the opportunity to get out of my normal game bubble and try something new

I was playing this game, and honestly it kept crashing on me. I have a brand new computer and it crashed so many times in a short span that i gave up and turned it off. I really like playing solitaire games and it crashing disappointed me greatly.

Was given a code for this game, and honestly. I really enjoy it.
I need to get back to playing it haha. So many things to do, many choices, and the characters you can get quite attached too or all out hate. Just very enjoyable :)

The developers are very nice people. I was lucky to receive a code for the demo and really enjoyed it. I have the full game and can't wait to see how it develops. I will say that you will have to figure things out as there isn't a true tutorial so you have to go into the side area for more notes on how to do certain tasks.
I can't wait to stream more of it, the music is really catchy and I tend to 'sing' along to it a lot. There is a lot of things going on sometimes and figuring out how to make the most efficient way of making money can be a little tricky but its a great game so far! I will continue playing it and see what the dev's have to offer :)

I didn't mind this game, I felt like some of the controls like trying to throw a book at a spider quite clunky and frustrating to do. But it is a game you might be into for SEARCH AND DESTROY!
For me, if it was a less clunky in how to kill said spiders or grab things then I'd like it more.
I'll play it again and see how I fair

It is a pretty good story, a bit tedious at times with things flying around. But honestly its a cute little game and if you like free games this is something you should try out :)
