Best borderlands yet! Game is fantastic. Don't know wth people are doing to experience performance issues... it worked perfectly for my brother and I with two hardware sets.

Early Access Review
I want SOOOO bad to love this...
I really enjoyed the beta and have had this on my wishlist ever since...
Don't get me wrong. I love so many elements of this game, but there are so many things that feel awful.
The AI and targeting being the worst parts of the game.

What they've done is recreate Vampire Survivors but with Deep rock flair... exactly... with only a few new things and very VERY few improvements. In the mater of fact, the gun targeting feels worse and more frustrating because they're projectile based and you have no control over what's being targeted.

Imagine if every skill in vampire survivors started off like the dagger skill or a retarded version of magic missiles that rarely targets the unit you want it to.

Few examples:

1- You can't position yourself to fire at angles unless moving. You're getting swarmed by the upper left corner... enjoy trying to shoot them with your shotgun that can only fire up/down/left/right... unless you yolo and charge at them at an angle.

2- Want to stall out a level so you don't progress too quickly to the next stage, allowing you to get the materials you need, or just feel OP killing everything? Too bad, map progression will force you to run to the drop pod after completing the end objective which you're forced into no matter the map/encounter.
2.a - You'll find this matters way more at higher hazard levels where you're lucky to get 10 levels and 2-3 gold or nitrate veins before you're forced to the next stage or kite the ridiculously scaled enemies the rest of the time.

3- Mission objectives... hope you enjoy playing 5 short maps on repeat to "kill the dreadnought". There are some fun/interesting biome changes. From lava that certain bugs won't traverse to regenerative and indestructible vines... but it's just incrementally more difficult hazard levels with the same rinse/repeat objectives.

4- Multiplayer? Why send more dwarves when one can do the job?... jokes on you he can't...

It is so incredibly frustrating to lose a 20 minute run just because your sawed off sniper is trying to target the farthest unit (that it can't reach) in the opposite direction of a giant heavy right next to you.

I feel so many of my issues could have been solved with this one thing... It was really sloppy of the dev's to not allow for or add a second input allowing for directional targeting/positioning. Using the mouse cursor to dictate a targeting position or if you're on controller left stick = movement, right stick = targeting direction.

Anyway, after several hours, I'm calling it quits on the grind. I might pick it up during mindless tasks/lul periods but vampire survivors is more fun than this game. The only major thing it has going for it is Rock'n Stone graphics.

Felt like a movie that I got to be the main character in. Was really well done. The story does a fantastic job making your choices feel impactful even tho the story is pretty linear.
Combat can be challenging and very satisfying. Exploration and puzzles feel rewarding.

Over all it's a great game. I'd recommend it and would/will certainly play it again. Really hope they build on this world, engine, and experience further!
Now to 100% the game :)

For obvious reasons. GGG fails again. You'd think they'd try experimenting what would happen if they empowered and rewarded their players... instead they insist on experimenting with reductions to the reward systems. It's almost as if they're trying to discover the sweet spot to introduce potential FTP and PTW mechanics. As far as developers go, stay away from these guys. They are a shade/shadow of what they once were... blatantly contradicting their own vision/goals they've shared no less than 1 year ago.
