Personally found it boring and way too easy. Run around spamming left/right mouse and you'll just kill everything with no real challenge. Stats, character, and weapon loadout seemingly make no difference.

That said, there's $20 value here, especially if you're buying this for children. Feels very 90s dungeon crawler, lots of characters, lots of pets. 8 year old me would have had a blast with this.

Anyone who says this game is finally playable is completely full of ♥♥♥♥. Legitimately one of the worst FPS games I've ever played.

The game itself is amazing, but Amazon as usual is horrible and will be the death of it in the West. The game is great and worth playing as long as you don't have any issues that require AGS to fix for you.

I generally don't care for isometric games or A-RPGs, so I wasn't expecting much going in, but started enjoying the game almost immediately once I started playing. The overall game design makes Western developers look horrible. Everything is super polished, the combat is really fun, the mechanics are generally well designed, the attention to detail in the graphics and world design is unbelievable.

P2W is definitely the big elephant in the room, but it's blown wildly out of proportion, at least in the Western release. I never spent a dime or ever felt like I needed to and had no problem getting multiple characters to T3. Did it take slightly longer? Yeah, but having multiple characters in end-game level content with one very well geared in ~300 hours and about 6 weeks of playing seems very reasonable to me.

The big problem is Amazon's handling of the game, particularly if you have any in game issues. I've had several friends get random temp bans for no reason with no response from AGS on why they were banned. Amazon's ticket system is hidden and not accessible either in game or on the game's official forums. If you manage to find it and put in a ticket, it takes them weeks to respond if they respond at all. I've also had several friends get perma-banned over bugs they had no idea were even bugs. One was banned over doing a quest that was repeatable for honing mats. Turned out the quest was not intended to be repeatable but there was zero indication in game that this was not intended.

I'm personally quitting because I lost 2.8 million silver due to a bug with Back Alley Rum purchased from the wandering trader. Silver is used for all of your in-game purchases through NPCs and is used for upgrading all your gear. You need huge quantities of it in T3 to be able to progress at all. Anyway, the in game UI shows a purchase price of 1k silver and a limit of two. So I purchased two, confirmed the price for 2k silver and the game took 2.8 million for me, which was more than 90% of what I had. I immediately submitted a ticket and upon searching found this had happened to tons of people both on the forums and Reddit. A week goes by with no response so I send another email. They finally respond and tell me the price is intended and refuse to refund the silver. I replied again pointing out it doesn't matter what the intended price is, the price displayed in game is radically different. They respond again promising to refund the silver and forward the issue to their development team. Meanwhile I'm stuck with no silver in game and haven't been able to progress any of my T3 or T2 characters because I can't afford to upgrade anything without the silver.

The game forums are also beyond worthless. AGS's customer service team is clearly outsourced, doesn't speak English as a first language, and doesn't know their companies policies because responses vary wildly from rep to rep and it's common for them to simply remove forum posts instead of helping people. Between that and random bans on legit players because their CSR team doesn't know what they're doing, it's New World all over again.

Do you like Halo? Do you like Portal? If so you're in luck, because this is a blatant rip off of both down to the games, game modes and mode names. Not that I'm complaining because the game is so fun it doesn't feel like a bad copy or cash grab trying to cash in on those franchises. And unlike Halo MCC, this actually has a playerbase to play with so you're not sitting in indefinite queues.

My only real complaint is the controller aim assist. It's massively overtuned to the point that they need to separate ranked play on console from PC.

Game foundation is really solid, but you're basically paying $40 to beta test for a $300 billion company. You'll get your $40 worth of gameplay, but if Amazon doesn't do something soon they're going to lose a huge portion of the playerbase and have another failed MMO. Bugs are rampant, most of which are leftover from early beta. There's weekly updates and fixes, but they're clearly not tested and break more than they fix and so far the updated content tends to get removed within a few days of the update because it's so buggy or broken. You may not even get to try the new content because they tend to only release it on smaller server clusters like Asia or South America to test live first, find the content is utterly broken, then end up removing it.

Leveling is fun at first, but gets insanely repetitive and you realize about 20 levels in that the entire game is just the same handful of random missions. It's also next to impossible to level with friends while questing because they're randomly generated with no way to sync outside of doing static side quests.

Once you hit level 50 it becomes abundantly clear they didn't expect anyone to reach high or max level within the first month of release. It's like an entirely different game at 50. You stop being able to solo most missions. Even if you can solo mobs still, after 50 they aggro from super far away, everything has tons of knocks and staggers, and if you do manage to kill the mobs respawn so fast you can't make any progress.

End game is next to non-existent outside of sitting on a world boss and killing it every 5 minutes in hopes of increasing your watermark in each individual slot. Wars would be fun, but they're a slideshow because the servers can't handle them. Invasions would be fun, but they're so overtuned they're next to impossible to actually defend against. They stop being fun when you realize your company's town is going to lose 5 upgrades at 10k gold or more a piece on top of 5 days of progress on top of completely halting progress for that town. That brings us to gold sinks, the game is full of them and it's very difficult to generate enough gold without playing the market against itself regularly. The game has far too many harsh gold sinks to the point that keeping up with them is nearly a full time job.

Customer service is also abysmal. There's a known bug where players can randomly lose their homes. I lost mine 5 days after purchasing it. CS told me 48 hours to hear back from the dev team and that was over two weeks ago. This could be resolved in the short term by simply refunding players the gold to repurchase a property, but Amazon won't do that.

The base game is really solid and the game has real potential, but so far Amazon has shown little capability in making meaningful fixes to the game and the dev team seems too inexperienced to implement and tune the good ideas they've had so far.

The player base has dramatically dropped off since launch and continues to daily. At this point I'd wait a few months to see if the game is going to last before purchasing it if you haven't already.

Great graphics, good story, and that's about it for positives. The game is far too formulaic and is annoying to play because of it. There's far too much focus on making you kill everything a certain way and too much focus on platforming and it completely takes you out of the immersion and story to do it. It feels like they took everything that made Doom 2016 fun and threw it out the window to turn this into one long chore.
