Remember Microsoft XP Pinball, and how that game felt functionally competent, yet aesthetically soulless, but was still a great way to kill five minutes at the end of class?

Yeah, this is this game. It's a fine shooter, the guns feel heavy and have a nice thud, and the movement feels alright. But once you've played ten minutes of this game, you've played the whole thing. There are no ways to really create a flow state or build a class out properly, every upgrade is just "+5% to guns" or "+8 to shields." Every run feels the same, I don't ever feel like I'm cracking the code and making something new.

Will I still randomly play it? Yeah, probably for a few minutes at a time. But I would not recommend buying this game if you're considering it. If you're looking for super fast paced roguelike fun, take that money and put it into a copy of Synthetic 2, which is a far far far superior game.

This is a legitimate contender for the best game of all time. The euphoria experienced when you finally hit the flow state is absolutely electric and unrivaled. This game should be sold at Wallgreens, because it has been vivaciously curing my unending depression.

This game is the balls, and not one you'd intentionally bench yourself to not play, Jazz.

Look, this game is the tits if you're into Neill Blomkamp, but it falls short like a lot of his projects do. The gameplay is fun, the visuals are amazing, the augment system has a lot of variety. The problem is that they took all these cool concepts and crunched it into (what was) an Epic Store exclusive with NFT elements in an already hyper-saturated BR market. There's definitely a feeling of "studio/artist vs corporate boardroom" in the mix, which kind of makes it a bit jumbled and unfocused. Not to mention the game's playerbase is rather sparse, there are definitely some matches where I feel like I'm playing against really badly coded bots.

There's so much cool stuff going on here, and has all the workings of a great core game loop. However, I feel like this game has been effectively kneecapped by poor management and marketing. The actual meat-and-potatoes are solid, but I have a feeling something like this could have worked really well as a single player game with a larger scope, or perhaps even an extraction shooter (which I'm sure they're trying to shoehorn in to keep up with the kids). Either way, I'm still having a blast playing it, no matter how annoying that announcer is.

How the ♥♥♥♥ does this game have such a good score? Story is cool, but locking the player to only two weapons at a time is complete ass in the "-----shock" genre.

Just buy Wildlands, it's so much better.

Also shoutout to this game for basically creating an entire musical genre.
