This game has a lot of things going on and maybe after some more work gets put into it, I would feel better about recommending it. However, coming off of years of EU4 and being really excited for this game, I'm just simply not having fun with EU5. AI issues (currently it's aggressive and makes any game in the HRE as a smaller nation very difficult) and the never-ending cascade of menus to find simple information are feeding into this feeling a lot. Thank goodness that they have the option to automate many of the systems to make things less daunting for first run throughs. But I can't help but feel that if that was necessary to implement, then maybe some things could've been simplified. Hoping to come back at some point and view this game in a more positive light.
