10/10 gameplay loop

Now, fitting to the Halloween sale i rediscovered the game.

Be Captain Renko, stuck in an alternate timeline with mutants and angry soviets.
Your best ally is a Time Manipulation Device, allowing you to age objeyts and entities or revert their state to normal. But wait, there is more! The TMD allows you to find secret stashes and hidden upgrades. You need everything you can find to reach the end of the game. You will have a basic selection of weapons as well as some exotic ones.

Without spoiling too much, the games plot is more interesting than in other shooting games, the game world will tell youa lot about the background of the story, either as audiotape or written note on the wall, paper or ground. There is much to see, but you will hardly deviate from the main playing tube. There might be some branching ways, but they are mostly dead ends, typical shooting game. These dead ends usually hold he more valuable items and interesting notes.

What matters a lot to me is the game world and this game got it right. You are on a vacant island, with industrial and scientific relics spread all around the place. The game gets this pretty right. It introduces you to the island by walking you through the residential part, filled with stories and impressions of life before the local disaster.

Well, the game does not look all too bad after all these years, no idea if the multiplayer part still works. The games core mechanics, shooting anyone who does not produce a green crosshair works well, the AI is, lets say from a different time. The game can be challenging, even on easy.

You need to solve small puzzles every then and now, either to move to the next area or get some upgrade material.
Speaking of upgrades, you will collect E99-Tech, you need it for improvements to your TMD and your character. You will also find weapon kits, allowing you to increase damage, reload speed and clip size of your weapons.

So, if you have 4,99€ left and want a sometimes creepy game, the amount of jumpscares is minimal, get this one.

A little warning, it might be related to the low field of view, i get tired rather fast playing this game. Not sure if you suffer the same fate...

No install issues or framerate issues here, solid 100 fps on my rig at max settings, no crashes so far

level 1:
loading screen comes with narration.
something about powerplants and finding someone blablabla
sitting in a helicopter flying into the combatzone.
some dude has intel and ♥♥♥♥ from satelites and stuff
sniping terrorists from a chopper is easy as f
now on the ground, got me an AK, cant hit ♥♥♥♥ sprays like a watergun and the enemy has lazors.
some russians showed up, the f are they doing here?
figured out i cant noscope my ally, dude can eat tons of AK rounds but not my .50

level 2:

new mission, snipe some dude in moscow
gotta be sneaky breeki here, lol nope. knifing some guard alerts any other guard around
got me a dragunov, never knew it is actually a bolt action rifle
ziplining, yay
now some actual sniping, boom headshot :P

level 4:
more sneaking ^^
didnt know its possible to use the same level layout in the same level multiple times. even with the same enemies o.O
now sniping a helicopter ^^

plot twist lel
the AI needs an award for stupidity...

level 6:
new mission, snipe some drug dealer looking for bio weapons
boring, nothing new

level 7:
sniped some dude, done

at least i got a ride on a motorboat

new mission: stop some terrorists trying to launch a nuke... to shoot the ISS

level 10:
boring

still boring

level 12:
new mission: find a hostage
suddenly my framerate is down to 15

level 13:
framerate back at 40 fps
the game is still boring

level 14:
framerate back to 100+
saved that hostage, now my dude repeats the same senteces about following and staying every 5 secs

alright, now a more serious review:

the game has 7 levels, you need to collect 100 crystals to unlock the whole story.
yeah you can complete the game by running through but you wont see the whole story.
you cant reach all crystals without solving puzzles :P btw they come in clusters of 25 as reward.
do a check at the end of a level: 100 crystals -> finish; less that 100 -> search for more.

falling from the tower wont kill you, thats nice, otherwise would have never finished level 3 lol.
there are some enemies to beat up, these guys drop crystals either, so yeah kill em all.
every level has a special theme, like moving walls or giant stoneballs you have to ride on.

the story is pretty sad, but i am appearantly unable to have basic human feelings so i didnt cry like a lil kid -.-

this game seriuosly needs a sequel...

You know, telling your friends that you will go now and fight the dragon is not really advisable ;)
Anyway, the game is really fun hehe

Honestly i was really angry at the beginning, not knowing that some stuff is really hard as well as the fact that my chosen character was just bad -.-
But as soon as i got a deeper insight into the game i figuerd out, that it is a hell lot of fun.

The dragon? Ignore this dude he isnt worth your time.
Appreciate the awesome content created by your fellow FTD players!
Or just create awesome stuff on your own!

Well you gotta dungeon crawl and explore places and stuff, you can even invite 3 more players to wrek the enemies and solve riddles if there are any.
Or just relax, while playing some really easy adventures, no need to take on the extreme stuff on the first day...

Yeah you got 4 classes, FIghter, Fire Wizard, Ice Wizard and Rogue.
One for killing and tanking, one for burning and AOE damage, one for freezing and one for stealth and traps.

Fully customisable including, swords, axes (some throwable), hammers, spears (naginata bruh), wands, dual daggers/shortswords, ice&fire staffs, crossbows, shuriken, shields, defense spelltomes, helmets, chestarmor, boots, gauntlets and dragon rings (the big bad dragon drops dem ringz).

Then there is the ACK - Adventure Creation Kit -
EVERYONE CAN USE IT!!!!!!!!!!111!!!!1
Its easy and mostly self explantionary, even more complex events and triggers can be set up with little effort.
Sure you are limited in tiles and content, but THINK CREATIVELY!!!!
If you do, you can create awesome adventures, which will be loved and admired by those who play them!

Game visuals are all blocky and stuff, but it runs even on pretty old and on weak machines.
Unlike some other blocky games, this one got actually some curves hehe

If you think you cant be a good adventure dev, just look at me.
I never thought i would get better than a 3k+ devrank but now i am @ 129 devrank o.O
You just need to be CREATIVE and release well thought and balanced adventures. Not just mass produce overstuffed loot&xp farm levels...
Be careful tho, the community can report your stuff and the game devs will check your creations... and maybe ban it and block you from further publishing anything!

Now buy the game, rock the ACK and round up some friends to beat all the adventures!

This game,
is a game based on Mount and Blade. It looks like a mod, but its a full game.
Its early access so most content is missing.

What you can do so far:
-lead your own army of cavalry, infantry, cannons and sailsips
-govern small villages and large cities, customise them
-ally with the 5 nations (Spain, Netherland, England, France and the Pirates) or start your own kingdom
-level up and customise your characters look and equipment
-accept small quests
-trade with the ports/villages

El Presidentes rating:
When this game is done, you will get a decent pirate game based on Mount and Blade. The already integrated features are already good, but could use small reworks. But that is what early access is made for.

Full release review

First off, this is not a mount and blade mod, addon, dlc or whatever the people who played the game for 5 mins claim. THIS IS A NEW GAME USING THE MOUNT AND BLADE ENGINE!
You can not compare M&B to this game, they vary greatly in looks and combat/city/what not mechanics. There are similarities, but these do not make this game a M&B ripoff.
If you cant understand this, dont play or even rate this game!

What to expect from this game:
-naval combat, including boarding
-land warfare and sieges
-town management
-faction warfare
-trading between ports
-maintaining your fleet, ranging from small cutters to might ships of the line, including upgrades and cannon replacement
-mainting your army, infantry, ranged, cavalry and cannons, as well as officers
-your own character, including trait points and the well known skills
-treasure hunting

Stbility, bugs and more:
-the game has changed from a pretty unstable game to a kinda fully stable (just dont alt+tab so much)
-i have not encountered any game breaking bugs so far, in fact i havent seen any.
-the loading time for towns and their interior is kinda long, even on powerfull machines
-i rarely have FPS troubles with my rig (gtx 660; i5@4x3,4ghz; 8gb ram)
-if you cant hit ♥♥♥♥ with your shops cannons get closer to the enemy ship and upgrade your artillery skill/traits, you aint shooting lasers

Content:
-there are various types of:
swords, spears, pistols, rifles, heavy/medium/light armor, ships types (there are not that many models), soldiers (some are the same for each nation just look different)
-plenty trading goods
-many minor world map enemies, like bandits, buccaneers and stuff
-main quest + minor quests which vary slightly repeat itself (killing bandits wont change much)
-pretty simple faction relations
-town management

The devs promised to add more content to the game, coming in form of patches rather than paid DLCs, multiple times. Check the forum if you dont believe me.
Yes there will be more content and no you wont have to pay for it!

And yes, there will be more updates and patches, the game just released as a full version, it will be worked on and further improved.

This is not a so called AAA title with the corresponding funding behind it. You cant expect a small dev team, without millions of €s to create a game like Skyrim, Battlefield, whatever. They have a limited fund and a limited team with limited capabilities. They dont charge you 60 bucks + 60 extra bucks if you want all the dlcs... They will charge you 20 bucks and you will get everything that will ever be in this game. Stop boohooing about the price its absolutely legit. Also ALL AAA have more bugs and ♥♥♥♥ on release than this game.

El Presidente Version 3

This is my first Tropico Game and after some time of frustrating restarts and head meets desk moments,
i finally figured out how to be a good El Presidente.
Sure some folks are always bothering me, but meh i got a prison.

You have many ways of getting rid of negative people as well as options to make your people happy.
Beating these small shacks, your worst enemies, can be difficult, since they tend to pop up in the worst moments.
Also your workers are damn lazy, they dont build your houses and ignore the big ass transport ships in your harbor -.-
Overtime, you can teach them how to work better and soon you can grab the great ressources like oil and rum ^^
Just sayin, but the street tool is damn awful >.<
Oh and lamas tend to assassinate your favourite dog >.<

But yeah, you are EL PRESIDENTE, this makes all the bad stuff up ^^
Become a good friend of the USA or UDSSR or stay neutral and raise an army to defend yourself.
This game is slow, but when ♥♥♥♥ hits the fan you know someone invades your place >.<

Also make sure you dont provoke a traffic jam! And attract loads of tourists!

Important note:
The most important persons in your state are your people. Make them happy and you can stay El Presidente forever!

This game is the peaceful opposite of

Go! Go! Nippon! ~My First Trip to Japan~

You wont see any kind of roboter trying to kill you or you wont destroy half Tokio on your short sightseeing tour.
You will see a few nice places and meet many nice people. Everything is alright and nobody gets hurt.

PLAY THIS GAME IF YOU LIKE FLOWERS AND SIGHTSEEING

Well, the game has its flaws like AI standing in your way, while you are defenitly not shooting anyone.
But at the bright side, the game has quite a nice story, well thats how they call the trip through Tokio.
The controls are fine, just the menu controls are kinda whack... no mouse in sight >.<
ah and you need to middle click to reload you gu... ah camera. you know to take more pictures

I want to be honest about this game...

I expected a tough game kinda "close" to the reality, since all the "pros" from ArmA, Battlefiled and ♥♥♥♥, said: "i played OFP i know how to play a tactical shooter, shut noob you cant deal with my 1337 skillz."
This game didnt meet my expectation...

Lets make a list of disapointments:

-your weapons spread is that awful, you cant hit a dude 100 meters/feet away... upgrading was never mentioned and it doesnt help much
-the AI is stupid as hell standing like 5 mins in front of your/enemy mgs ignoring all orders to move away
-you are forced to drive around in a car in most missions, doing nothing while listening to some seargent who constanly drops BS sentences, swearing in every single sentence. the other soldiers arent much better
-getting shot means you stand around for a few seconds open for another hit
-the graphics didnt really improve, dragons rising looks kinda the same
-the scenery doesnt change, well its a desert...
-the only mission i would replay is the last one, it created some soldier feeling, the other missions are boring...
-the checkpoints are fine in most cases, but being forced to walk 1km/mile again or waiting 10 mins again is frustrating
-you can heal yourself from all kinds of injuries, except death and being shot down, in a few seconds is fine, but the AI ignores this feature and you need to heal them every few minutes if you want your team to fight with you
-the screenshots certainly look better than the game on maxed out settings
-the story looses its sense as soon as the chinese invasion begins...
-GfWL is down, so no easy multiplayer
-enemy has lazers, while you shoot peas... range doesnt matter
-your AI kills YOU from time to time...

I always try to find some + points for a game, this game made it hard:
-the game has only 10 missions, thank [insert deity]
-the upgrade/loadout system is quite good

THE SHUTDOWN OF GFWL DOES NOT PREVENT YOU FROM SAVING THE GAME.
JUST CREATE AN OFFLINE PROFILE.

with that said, i cant recommend this game, probably only its predecessors.
I havent played them enough to form an opinion

Castle Story,

its a Castle building sim, at least for me. Your dudes work for you. Thats good... But they are kinda stupid...

Singleplayer:
-2 modes at the moment, survival and sandbox
- should be self explainatinary hehe
-A map editor is in the game, but not active at the moment
-Singleplayer allows you to build the castle of your dreams :3

Multiplayer:
-havent tested it yet, people say its buggy as well as kinda lame

Finishing lines:
Dream about your castle. Build it. Of course within the limits of the game...
