Price is ridiculous.

Not great value for money, raising price and giving more premium credits is not the way forward.

Thought I was playing Division 2, not Destiny 2.

So I finally did the story and new DLC.

First play through with Vex, doing everything, searching for all items, all activities.
Then I got bored and gave up.
Uninstalled, returned this week because of DLC.

Second play through with Vex, only story missions and DLC missions this time on normal.
Well those are now done.
Here's the kicker, I don't want to do them again.
Not even with another character or another difficulty.
Massive open world, sparse at times, plenty to do, too much in fact.
But, there's literally no reason to do it all again, none at all.
I had "fun" the first time and that's it.

There's less annoying Claptrap (that's a good thing IMO).
No twins, also a good thing.
Some characters return from the other games, nice to see.
Story is okay? some tragedy, some laughter.
It ran well enough on my PC, no issues apart from falling through the floor on occasion.

The way this "game" optimizes shaders is a joke.
You download an update.
You click play.
Then the update kicks in. You are returned to steam.
You restart the game to be met with shader optimization.
When you think its over and you've got to main menu, you click play/continue.
And then there's a "tunnel" screen where you have to do the shaders again.
In fact fast travelling will make this happen more than you'd like it to.
And every single time you update your graphics, you have to do this here too.

So do I recommend this?

I'm going to tick no, but I wish Steam had a middle option, it's not a yes, it's not a no if price is right.

Yes if it is £20 or less only.
No if above £20. Not worth it.

I got this free with the super kitchen sink edition and I feel ripped (pardon the pun) off.

One mission for £11? No thank you.

You will be deafened as you click play the first time.

This is one of those "games" that make you think about life choices.

This is one of those "games" that gives you time to think about life choices you regret as you click 4999 times.

This is one of those "games" that gives you time to think about the other **** you regret buying on steam.

This is one of those "games" older me wishes he could travel back in time and slap younger me around the back of the head for even considering buying this.

This is one of those "games" older me wishes he could travel back in time and slap younger me around the back of the head twice for even considering buying this.

Your mouse will hate you.

Buy this and test how quick your PC reboots after Steam freezes and time stops.

If you like everything correct like 5000/5000 be prepared to open this game 50 times.
I'm just going to leave that achievement well alone.
I'm currently at 3/50 and that is three times too much.

No cloud save. As if you would wish to remember you played this.

Watching Star Trek Academy would be a better use of your time.

I'm going now.
Steam has frozen and I need to reboot for the third time today.

No in-game credits.
No in-game mask.

Refund requested.

Ubisoft support replied to me :

1) Unlink Steam from Ubisoft. Then re-link. Did not work.

2) Clear caches from Steam and Ubisoft Connect. Did not work.

3) Uninstall Steam, Uninstall Ubisoft Connect, re-install everything. Seriously NO WAY!

On a side note this is a 2 day fresh install of Windows 11 and everything else due to fault with PC.

Had another reply from Ubisoft : Please wait 48 hours for delivery of items.
Too late refund returned by the nice peeps at Steam

Starting to play this, I have left the samurai side well alone.
Wanted to play as ninja!
Had visions of being Rikimaru from Tenchu.
Turns out I am Kung Fu Panda's distant cousin Ninja Panda!
I am as graceful as a fat kid in a sweet shop sale.

The game looks and sounds beautiful.
Music adds to it, not distracts.
I have chosen to use English language, instead of authentic Japanese & Portuguese voices.
The weather and lighting really adds to it.
Rain makes things difficult to see.
Wind blows the bushes you are hiding in, making you not so invisible.
Darkness is my friend, sunlight not so.

You can put out candles or light them as needed.
Doors you open can be used to hide behind, nice touch.
As is looking through peep holes to spot bad guys.
You can hide inside a well and drag/assassinate next victim into it.
You can hide inside cupboards.
Still have not found a needle in the haystack though.

My gameplay loop is finding castle.
Spend up to two hours meticulously picking off bad guys quiet like.
Then the last thirty minutes or so turning the game into a Quentin Tarantino movie.
Think Kill Bill and you won't be far off.

You can build your own hideout?
Complete with stables and authentic Japanese garden.
On your travels, you can collect cats and dogs to add to hideout.
Paint pictures of wildlife, then hang the pictures in hideout.
Massive open world map to explore.
Controls seem clunky at first, though I am now getting used to them.
I am really enjoying this.

I am an idiot.

I bought this.
If you use this DLC, achievements are locked*
Fallout 4 updated. Sad face.
I broke my mods. More sad face.

Creations is currently offline.

*Unless you mod the game. Which you will have to wait until the proper developers (mod creator's) fix this mess.

Game makes my PC hang.

I have been in contact with Sabre support since issue began.

Support replies every 3 or 4 days.

They now insist I should use a VPN to play this game and offer no other solution.

No thank you.

If you've won the lottery lots of times buy this game, you may have enough luck to get through it.

If prone to rage quitting, do not buy this.

Otherwise for the rest of us mere mortals avoid, game is stacked heavily against ordinary players.

Spider boss had seven turns (managed to match 5 gems, 5 times in a row) against me, before I could get a turn, then it killed me.

Replay a different daily level over and over to gain 1 - 4 points on your overall light level.
Start at light level 10, repeat until light level 450.
The grind is horrendous.

No seasonal activity.

Featured items limits choice.
