Difficult describes souls-like games to a T but Elden Ring, that is a different beast.

Elden Ring is difficult, no doubt but what sets it apart from other souls-like it that your progress is not linear. Stuck at a tough boss? A giant monster is blocking your path and keeps pounding you into a puddle of mush? Find another way around, sneak, go back, explore, become stronger, work on your own skill and try again.

The world in this game is B E A UTIFUL. Every foray into this MAHOOSIVE, dangerous world is filled with incredible views, breathtaking graphics and interesting inhabitants. With hundreds of caves, tombs, dungeons, castles, fortresses and forests to explore, be prepared for many screenshots and even more hours of thrilling and beautiful gameplay.

I have spent nearly 70 hours thus far in the Lands Between and have not even scratched the first atomic layer of this amazing game. As someone who didn't even ring the first bell in Dark Souls 1, I highly recommend this game. It is officially the game that made me a souls-like fan.
