I don't know how to review this contender for "perfection of psychological horror" without spoiling some aspect of it, so instead I'll simply say:

Please play this game

I waited 10 long years to play The Last of Us, and it's more than what I could have hoped for.

Pros:
-One of the best games of the last decade finally on PC
-Emotionally destructive story
-Tense, well built gameplay
-Port has greatly improved since release
Cons:
-At launch this was possibly one the the worst ports I have ever played. This included fun things like:
>2+ hour wait to build shaders
>Crashes, constantly
>Audio bugs
>Shader bugs
>Stuttering
>much, much more!
-Even now after many fixes:
>Shaders need a 45+ minute rebuild every time a patch is released
>Shader & lighting bugs in dark areas

If you've never played The Last of Us and don't own a console, this is now a serviceable way to play, but if you have other means available, they are still probably the "definitive way to play"

Take 2 have killed modding. It's a computer game. Modding is 90% of why people bought it. They are pushing people to their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ online where they have "microtransactions". This is the 3rd best selling game of all time, they don't need the money from microtransactions. They are ruining single player to force people to pay them even more money. Will not be playing another Take 2 game unless this is resolved.

Well, ♥♥♥♥. I wasn't expecting this to be that good, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it went WAY beyond my expectations. It's a touch expensive for the length of the game though, so buy it on sale.

Buy do buy it.

The original 2D Sadistic Ninja Freerunning Platformer is back and badder than ever. The game hates you. I ♥♥♥♥ you not. This game actively hates you for playing it. It loves your pain. It flourishes on it. Respect the game and it will... actually no it won't pay you back for it. It'll kill you anyways.

This game. This soul-crushing game. It hates you. It does not care whether you are enjoying yourself or not. It does not care if you like it. It just exists.

This is a game that I will wholly reccomend to anyone who wants a game that is genuinely not fun. It is enjoyable but not fun. It is tedeious, difficult, and there is no win state. You will lose eventually.
At 75 hours of current game time I still have no clue what I am doing.

Overall, 9.5/10 would reccomend.

And now to the review.

This game is one of the best games I have played in a very long time. It is also both extremely depressing, and extremely uplifting at different points. If you are looking for a great experience and dont mind aesthetics like animations or amazing graphics too much, then buy this game. It is more than worth the 20 some odd dollars.

(side note: be prepared for some extremely heavy points and many days of feeling horrible)

But it really is a good game, magniflorious plot, decent realist difficulty, sadness. And anger... lots and lots of anger.
