You objectively get a lot of top content for $0.00. Whether you agree with Blizzard's business practices or the history of how the game. You don't need to buy skins, and you can unlock new heroes for free half way through the free version battle pass.

Once the technical issues are resolved, this will go down as one of the all-time greats. A triumph in world design and gameplay. An absolute joy to play, and deaths truly never feel unfair.

Early Access Review
Hard to stop playing. Cool twist on the tired medieval survival city builders. There are similar elements here i.e. resource gathering, building your colony but the real twist is when you realise how important water and dams are. I like that the beavers aren't just a cute idea - dams, droughts and flow of water affect everything in the game. Fertile land needs to be close to water, which you're able to manipulate later in the game by building dynamite factories to terraform the land.

There's a lot of ways to approach each map, I've spent almost all of my 30+ hours on the first map, replaying it using different approaches. Haven't yet dug into the second breed of beavers, or the many other maps. Also if you want extra customisation (cheats) press Alt + Shift + Z to get the dev console up. Useful as it lets you insta-build objects like dams/levees so you can test how water flow and water levels will work with different placements.
