At its current state. I cannot in good faith recommend this game. There are so many glaring issues with the game. The tower system as whole seems like they took a major jump backwards from the style that they had in Injustice 2 in order to "earning" our keep in the tower through the crypt. The fact that tower abilities are consumables instead of being mapped to armor pieces, or even having the opportunity to find gear pieces outrages me. The amount of effort needed to do a basic tower is outrageous. The frequency and potency of enemy assist just makes the entire experience obnoxious. Towers in Injustice 2 were fun at times. Some were difficult, but at least doable. Over 5 hours spent inside the tower mode and I have yet to be able to fully complete a tower. I'm not saying that I'm good or even decent, but do they really want it so that casuals are unable to go into the tower and enjoy themselves? Given that some (very few) items come exclusively from the towers, I would think that NetherRealm would actually want their players to be able to earn their content. If they were so dead set on this gear system, why did they not keep the system that they had from Injustice? I see no reason to actively push players towards this content when you are unable to buy cosmetics from the crypt as microtransactions (as far as I know). This style would have been completely fine if it wasn't for the fact that the "cosmetics" have specific slots for gems. Now I can't even say how effective that these gems will be because in the 9.4 hours that I've played the game, I have received one for my time, for a character that I don't play. Who knows? Maybe gems are the answer to the Tower situation, but their drop rates from the chests seem non-existent. This game almost feels like an indie studio developed it. There are mistakes that they continuously make, that most large scale companies should be able to pick up on over the several releases. Overall, I was super excited for this game. Now, I'm just hoping NetherRealm actually responds to the issues that they've caused.

As it currently stands, being 15 hours into the game, it has been pretty good. Is the game worth $60? No, not at all. Is the game worth 35? I say yes as of now. This is by no means a single-player game, and they make that blatantly clear. The open world is nice, and it's a great game to spend time with friends. If you do play solo, the game can feel repetitive very fast. Constantly grinding side quests to put yourself up towards the main quest can eat away at your experience. Im only 15 hours into this game so far, and I plan on updating my review of the game once 30 is achieved.

It's better than Rosetta Stone! It's a great place to learn a second language. I.E. Russian or Spanish.
