A fun short incremental game. Challenging throughout. I enjoyed it as someone who doesn't enjoy bullet hells in general.

The balancing could have been better in places. At times it felt a little grindy, and some of the upgrades felt like they did almost nothing. Despite that, I had a nice time with the game. It was fun both improving my own skill at the game, and upgrading to make it easier.

Took me just over 3 hours to finish. Plus I'd played the demo for an hour or so, so the main game probably went a little faster for me than it would've without that.

If you liked The Return of the Obra Dinn, you will almost certainly enjoy this as well.

A very different storyline and such, but how the story is told has a lot in common with it, as does the game mechanics. Sure, you're scouring the web for info instead of getting clues from the moment of someone's death, but the whole process of deduction is very similar, and pulled off almost as well as the gold standard that is the Obra Dinn.

The story can be completed with almost no (though not quite none) unjustified logical leap, which is great. At the same time you're forced to think and put info together in order to obtain more clues. It strikes that balance very well.

The storyline itself is reasonably interesting, though in my opinion the gameplay shines more than the story does.

It does fail to reach quite the same level of polish and story and overall coherency that Obra Dinn has. But Obra Dinn is literally the gold standard; even having played something better, this is still very good.

What should have been a great experience is marred by some truly dreadful balancing. The game swings wildly from a walk in the park, to massive difficulty with no rhyme or reason.
The game balance assumes you are constantly save scumming so that you can buff up before non-trivial fights.

It also has the worst puzzles I've experienced in any game.

I stuck with the game far longer than I should have, getting about halfway through before the balancing finally made me uninstall it. What finally pushed me over the edge was yet another untelegraphed major encounter, where the boss could hit any member of my party on a roll of 2 (thanks to having +51 to hit) while most of my characters would only hit it on a 20.

Tiny little game, but fun. Finished it in about 80 minutes.
For a dollar or two I'd say it is worth the price.
