It's better than New and has the best customization in the series by far, but that's about the best I can say. Stages are pretty repetitive which is standard for the series but they manage to do it in an especially boring way here.
In 3, it was possible to do all sorts of crazy combos by chaining together different option weapons and EX moves, but here, the most effective procedure is always to do a launcher with a beam saber, jump, and then endlessly smash the single attack button for that saber to lock them in an endless air loop.
Bosses are big and lumbering, and rarely do anything interesting or challenging (check out the Dendrobium boss fight from GB2 to see what a good boss fight in this series is like).

Ultimately, I don't think this game is *awful*, but I do feel the need to give is a not recommended just to pull down the average a little bit. It's a shame the modding community for this game died pretty fast, since some of those mods were starting to put this game in a better place.

Also the DLCs are said to be really lacking despite their price (I haven't played them).

Oh yeah and the netcode is completely broken and desyncs constantly, so don't buy this if you're expecting to play with your friends.

Where the hell is all the misinformation in these negative reviews coming from?
-The mods aren't "pay to win", they're very minor stat tweaks that always have a negative trade-off. (But it's fine when TF2 locks entire subclasses behind randomly dropped items, right?)

-The same PvP mode from previous betas is still in this one.

Anyway, ignore all the bs, this is one of the most fun multiplayer games for like a decade.
