Is Avowed innovative and extraordinary? Well, not really. Is the game still fun? Yep.
I don’t have super high expectations when it comes to builds or combat mechanics. The story was interesting, even if you could see some of the “revelations” coming a mile away. The maps of the different areas were bigger than I initially thought and very lively. Right now I’m playing Path of the Damned and hope to reach 100% completion soon. I’d recommend picking it up on sale if you’re in the mood for a straightforward RPG with some humor and fun combat.

Reached 100% after about 80 hours of play in one run (although the fishing probably took me 5 hours and I was very lucky with that. I f*ing hate fishing).

I played the Tainted Grail board game a few years ago and thought the story and world were absolutely brilliant and fascinating. Unfortunately, you were under non-stop pressure there - be it from a Fore-Dweller pursuer, foraging for food or extinguishing Menhirs. So I read the entire campaign book again after the board game to get the full story.

I love what we get to see of Avalon in this game. Of course, that's only a fraction and I'd love to see DLC or expansions on other areas, maybe even the story of the expedition like in the board game. I also see that the game has its weaknesses: Act 3 is a clear one. In contrast to the two previous areas, it feels rather empty - although a certain feeling of “abandonment” is probably intentional with the fragmented clans etc.
I was on the Dal Riata's side from the beginning, but unfortunately I felt like that didn't really play out in the final act. I thought the clans' characteristics were really well presented, as were their matching quest lines, but somehow it still didn't really get me interested enough to get fully involved with the clans. Maybe because the majority of the clan population were still the biggest bastards, even if you helped them.

I thought the guild quests were pretty cool; in general a lot of the side quests were super detailed, fun and it was nice to see some familiar characters from the board game again (even if I don't know what exactly they did with Beor there...the blonde mane wtf).

Combat mechanics aren't too much of a focus for me, but I had fun with the combat, even seeking out fights specifically because it felt really powerful after the initial fight for survival.

I had a small bug every now and then, but nothing that would have disturbed or interrupted my game.

To be honest, I played Oblivion Remastered first and put off Tainted Grail for a bit, but in the end I liked this game much better!

Recommendation yes, but should only be bought when on sale.
Is the combat fun? Yes, for one playthrough. Is the story good? It has ups and downs, but it's not captivating enough for me to want to play it again. And I really did try several times...

I wish the franchise had gone out in a blaze of glory. But as it is, it's only good enough for a weak recommendation for a few hours of fun, if you can overlook the characters and dialog.

It's a bioware game in name only. The characters are only good for one playthrough, dialog is childish or absolutely cringeworthy, and the fact that the previous three games and our choices are completely irrelevant makes it clear that everything the previous dragon age games stood for has been thrown out the window for disney looks and over-the-top diversity. Bioware games have always been diverse and ahead of their time in terms of inclusion, but you can overdo it.

only good thing: my fellow unhappy fem elf inkys - we finally get the happy ending we always wanted!

★ Game of my decade ★
I don't know how I'm going to continue playing other games. BG3 will be the measure of all things and I'm afraid there won't be a game with comparable fun, epic story, lovable companions (where I to this day don't want to strangle anyone to death) in the next few years. I will try to carry on, later.

but for now:
the night is young, we're going down, down, down by the river

Now I can finally enjoy Mass Effect 1 properly without wanting to get it over with!

Bought the game trilogy three times. First Origin, then Steam and now the Legendary Edition. That and the combined hundreds of hours of playtime on various platforms probably says more than a long review. I love Dragon Age and this is DA in space so I'm fully in.

Technically, everything has worked fine for me since purchase with the connection to Origin.

Thank you Bioware! ♥

update: I played a few hours now without any crash or problems and I even use mods + play with ultra graphic settings (my pc isn't that good and still no crash or lags).

Also remember that Dragon Age has problems with Origin ingame overlay, so it may have issues with Steam or Discord overlay too.
I had the problem with Origin but not with the other two.
Check your firewall settings too! You might need to make an exception for the game.exe.

As for the dlcs: make sure your mods work in dlcs too. I've had to deinstall some and download the version for the specific dlc ♥ have fun

I love the whole Dragon Age franchise and I already own Dragon Age™ Inquisition on Origin (and PS4). I played with and without mods. I've had bad experiences with launching Dragon Age Games in the past and after reading all these comments in this section I feared for the worst, but I was fooled. Don't be discouraged to buy this game on steam because of negative comments about crashes etc. It works absolutely fine if you deinstall / reinstall correctly!

If you really love this game or really want to try it out - do so!
You really have to deinstall your former version of Inquisition (e.g the game on Origin) and reinstall with Steam! Link your accounts and remember that it may have issues with some of your anti-virus software - but that isn't new, right? Dragon Age has multiple issues with that on Origins too.

And finally: this game is superb in every way (my opinion ofc). I am a huge fan of Dragon Age Origins and I also liked Dragon Age II & for the Thedas story and the "perfect" ending to this game series you need to play, breathe and live Dragon Age Inquisition.

I'm all over it again and now I'll stop here and play the hell out of my Inky again! ♥

I absolutely love this game ♥
I'm a huge Bioware fan and adore deep storytelling, interesting / relatable companions & characters and beautiful ambiance & world design. I've been waiting for such a game for decades and I know that I'll be playing it as excessively as if it were the only RPG in this world.
Greedfall is a must-have for everyone who wants to experience a rich story with twists and turns where every decision, mission and quest influences the outcome of your playthrough! ♥

Super fun co-op game with lots of exciting and varied stages. Dynamic level design means that the various kitchens never get boring - you think you've got the hang of it when you add spinning counters or sinking platforms. Very communication-intensive game, whereby the main means of communication will probably be the tried and tested shouting. It has a funny little story with cute characters and lots of flat jokes and puns.
