This game is funny, fun, relaxing and challenging all in one. If you're a fan of Viva La Dirt League's Epic NPC Man skits on YouTube, this game is for you! If you're not a fan, or have never heard of it before (go check it out now!), this game is still for you. It's a great 2D Pixle side scroller, with some beautiful art, some great humor, a fun story line and the fishing/combat mechanics are surprisingly deep. Highly recommend this game, just loads of fun, totally worth the price.

This game is just a load of fun. A lot of people are going to (of course) compare this to Fallout, and that's fair, because it's the same developer as well as a similar sense of humor. And while this game is missing a lot of what made Fallout 4 fun (part of which is it's long history of other games, but it also includes things like customizable player housing, and customized armor and weapons, something I think a future Outer Worlds DLC should include), I really enjoyed the story line of this game. The enemies were interesting, the side quests were just as fun as the main one, and never once did I feel bored. On the downside, things are somewhat limited. For example, there are only so many upgrades for your weapons, and it misses out on the robust nature of the upgrade system in Fallout 4. Also, I feel like the Unreliable needs some customization options, like a paint job. Also, I kind of miss a lock picking or hacking system where I had to do something, and the ease of it depended in my skill. But, I can see why some wouldn't. Maybe make that an option? Anyway, overall, I really enjoyed this game, and was satisfied with the ending. Looking forward to the next DLC, and hoping that it add some options other than new quests.

One of the best, most immersive survival games out there. If you are not constantly freaking out over new noises as you explore, you are just not experiencing this game in full. Highly recommended! It's a truly amazing game.

I love this game. It's a fun 2D Side Scroller dungeon craler with a lot of interesting mechanics that make it a tough game. As it states in the begining, this is a game about making the best of a bad situation. No matter the decisions you make, eventually you will fail. A hero will die. You will fail a quest. And you can't save scum, you have no choice but to keep going. And that's what I love about this game. It forces you to work wihtout all the resources you need, so you have to decide what you think is the best way to use those resources, and what you can live with not being 100%. And then forces you to dungeon crawl even when you might not be ready for it.

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!

So, I finally got around to playing this game that so many of my friends told me was such an amazing game (also, none of whom warned me that this was Elevators, the RPG). Now, before I get into my full review here, let me give you my overall opinion of the game. It was a lot of fun, and the main story line was awesome and had me hooked from the beginning. I'd say that overall, I'd give it a 4 out of 5, I liked it a lot, and would recommend it to anyone that is a fan of RPG's and good sci-fi.

Now, that said, there were some things that I really disliked about this game. The biggest one, and the reason it's 4 and not 5 stars, is the side quests. They felt repetitive, needless and uninteresting. They all involved driving around in the Mako, the worst part of this whole game in terms of game play, IMHO. The few that did have interesting stories (the rouge VI on the moon, the Cerberus story) all seemed to just end, with no real resolution or even feeling of a cliffhanger. They just... ended. I killed the last gut, quest over, return to the Normandy to turn in the quest. After that happened twice, doing more side quests just felt... pointless. I probably missed out on a good chunk of the game because I skipped a LOT of the side quests due to a serious lack of interest. And I find that particularly dissapointing because the side quests in Dragon Age: Origins were so much better. I realize that DAO came out a year later, but still... disappointing nonetheless.

All that said, the Citadel Side Quests were almost the exact opposite. I participated in news stories that later showed up in the elevators, I helped people out and those stories felt resolved, I discovered clues that related to the main quest, even if they didn't directly effect it, and I never once felt bored running around the Citadel talking to NPC's (or shooting up clubs). These quests felt fun and unique and complete; everything I want from a side quest.

Another gripe was the way the party was handled. Now, this is a smaller gripe, because I realize this game is older, and Bethesda seems to have learned their lesson in later games, but still... a lack of a loyalty/"do they like me" meter was kind of awkward. I would have conversations or do loyalty quests and have no idea of the choices I made had any effect on the character.

That said, the party members themselves were really well done. All of them were interesting, well voice acted and unique. I honestly had trouble picking who to take on missions a lot of the time, because I liked all the characters so much.

Finally, my last gripe is this: I felt like the choices I made during the main quest had no real effect on the overall story. Again, I'm making comparisons to DAO, which may be unfair, but as I played DAO first, I can't help but compare them. In DAO, while my choices didn't effect the fact that I had to battle the dragon at the end, they did drastically effect the ending of the overall story, and I felt like they had weight, and consequences beyond just setting up the next game. In ME, however, it kept feeling like no matter what I chose, nothing really major changed. Save the Council? Humanity gets a seat for their sacrifice and major role in stopping the bad guys. Don't save the Council? A shiny new one shows up, and the same outcome happens. I mean, short of having one, maybe two, party members not show up at the final battle, nothing at all was effected by my decisions during the game. I mean, I realize they will in in the next one, but as far as the outcome in the end of this one? Nope, nothing, and that kinda sucked.

All that said, though, as I stated at the top, the game was, over all, really fun. While the side quests were boring, the main quest was not. The story was fascinating, fun, well-paced and well written. If I viewed this as an interactive Sci-Fi movie, it is awesome! The villians were all well done, and well voice acted. I loved most of the aliens (I was a little disappointed with the Assari, AKA the Fan Service aliens, but only a little), their background and the sheer amount of detail that went into this game.

I also liked the game mechanics. Taking cover became important, and the way poping up form behind cover was just a load of fun. Some fights were simple run and gun battles, while others required me to actually strategize how to beat the enemies (again and again a few times). As noted above, I wasn't fond of the handling of the Mako, but otherwise, the controls were just fine.

TL/DR: The game was overall very fun, and the main story line was gripping and kept me playing all the way through. Side quests were obring and repidtive, and it felt like my choices didnt have an over all effect on the ending of the game, but neither of those stop this game from just being really good and a lot of fun.

Still clunky in some areas, over all this game does a fantast job of translating the board game to the computer. It's a turn based strategy game that combines aspects of American Football & Rugby and is set in the Warhamer Fantasy setting. It is a whole ton of fun, and can be played alone against the AI or with friends in online leagues. Over all, I give it 4 out of 5 Mithril Spikes.
