With the release of the 2.00 patch the game is a lot better, though I'm one of the people that thought the game was decent to begin with. I know the item chains aren't going to be for everyone, but I appreciate that they're trying to do something different from the typical 4X "collect resource get reward" system.

Even with the updates the game isn't a 10 by any stretch, but I'd say it's a very solid 8. It's also a LOT better than Civ 7 right now, but that's an unfortunately low bar to cross.

After 100%-ing the game I can say that it is a great Monsters game.

If you've played any of the previous ones, any Dragon Quest game, or even a Pokemon game, you'll love this. The creature designs are top notch as always, the story is decent to good, and the combat is very enjoyable. Capturing and synthesizing creatures is well implemented, if not a little too RNG based, even if you can tweak the numbers to be in your favor, and the vast majority of the levels are well designed and fun to move around/interact with.

My experience so far is that this is absolutely a Master of Magic remake delivered as promised.

There have been some minor changes here and there, some good some bad and some a combination of both, but overall I think the good outweighs the bad. I jumped right into this from having played so much of the original Master of Magic and just from that knowledge I've got how basically everything works and operates down, even with some minor changes. With how seamless that transition is, I'd say this is right up there as one of the best 20+ year remakes ever.

MuHa is usually very good about continuing support for their games, so I hope that trend keeps up here so they can fix a few oddities, but even if they don't I think this was absolutely worth the asking price.

The only real negatives I can say about the game are that it does seem to be optimized a bit poorly (especially with loading into a game, though that may just be on large maps) and personally I'd like to see achievements (though that's not a big deal overall, that's just a me thing). Otherwise I can't really think of anything major to complain about.

To say this is Fallout 3 if it stayed Isometric would do it a disservice. So much love and care was put into this game that it oozes out of every zone and character. Are there bugs and odd hiccups scattered around it? Absolutely. But the gameplay, and especially the soul of the game, more than make up for any momentary annoyance. Wasteland 4 can't come fast enough, and I'm sure I'll play this game several more times in anticipation for that day.

Absolutely worth every cent. It's the Dragon Quest you know and love, but with a fresh coat of paint. If you like turn based RPGs (both 3D and 2D) this is a must get. If you like JRPGs, this is a must get. If you like RPGs in general, this is definitely a must get.

I've said for a long time that people weren't sick of Battle Royales, they were sick of Shooter Battle Royales. This game is living proof of that. This has been some of the most fun I've ever had with a multiplayer game, and I'm predominantly a single player guy.

The Battle Pass system they have is incredibly generous and easy to complete, the currency you can purchase you never really need to, and the "premium" currency you can't even buy. The aesthetic is everything I could want from a game like this, and the music is worth a listen to just on its own.

The only issue with this game is that the servers can be a bit wonky at times, but that largely came about because of the massive surge of players in the beginning, and then the steady drop. They seem to have sorted that out since then, but be aware you might still get a server drop every now and again.

Overall I can't recommend this game enough. If you like party games, battle royales, goofy physics, or just chill games with a bit of competition to them, you're gonna have a blast here.

This has been a great side game to the XCOM series. I'm 100% sure this was done by a small team that had nothing else to do while Firaxis was preparing to start up XCOM 3, and they wanted to flesh out the world a little more and try out some new mechanics. It's a shorter experience, and for its cost I think a worthwhile (if not just slightly just slightly overpriced) investment. If you can get this during a sale of any kind, then absolutely buy it.

All that said, this game has bugs. Lots and lots of bugs. Most are just minor graphical/UI annoyances, but I've heard there are some debilitating ones as well. It's very obvious this game could have used another 3 months in the oven to iron all these issues out. Hopefully Firaxis will continue to update, patch, and balance this game. But even if they don't, it's still a decent enough game that the hiccups aren't going to destroy the game for you.

As of the writing of this review the game is at about a 71% on Steam, and I'd say a solid 7/10 is where I'd put it as well. Easily the weakest of the XCOM games, but as a small side project and something you can get on the cheap, definitely worthwhile. Especially so if you like lore, cheesy one liners and possibly "testing" out new mechanics for XCOM 3. For those that don't, you can skip this and you won't be missing too terrible much, though I still say to at least give it a try on a sale.

A beautiful art style in a game that perfectly captures the feel of D1. I cannot recommend strongly enough to anyone with a even a passing love of oldschool ARPGs.

Honestly what can I say that needs to be added about this masterpiece? It's the first and only game that has surpassed Baldur's Gate 2 in quality (as far as cRPGs go), and it shows in every little detail and amazing moment.

Well executed Isometric RPG and one of the few where I actually feel like my choices make some kind of an impact on the world. The biggest negative I can say is that the ending is VERY lackluster compared to the rest of the game. I hope this gets a sequel, I'd love to find out more about this world.
