They made a lot of changes to melee weapons to where they all feel very good with controlling the fight, but there was no equal measure in difficulty to make up for this gain in power on the monster's side.
As such, the game is very fun, but also piss easy. Unfortunate.

A great game, with an absurd amount of mods available

I died to the first few monsters in the mines
I died to being on fire by accident
I died to a spell I casted myself
I died to being cornered by several monsters at once
I died because fire and poison slowly ate my life
I died because the pink liquid looked interesting, but its worse than lava
I died to dune-like worms eating without care through the terrain (and me)
I died more times to spells i found and casted (there are hundreds) learning what they do
I died several times to many bosses
I reached the final area and got my first painstaking win
I unlocked more spells by uncovering secrets
I reached the final area several times with higher difficulty (done by beating other bosses prior)
I found out that everything is destructible with certain spells,
I started exploring with no terrain impeding me, revealing the massive world, more spells and bosses, realizing the final boss i defeated isn't even close to the end of the game.
Even... exploring outwards of the current world map.. breaking into a fresh new world...
I found out that this game has many secrets, dozens of challenges, even more spells to be unlocked.


But then I died again to these new things, only to begin yet again with just 2 basic spells and a flask in the first biome.
Its truly a great game, don't let the graphics, or the fact that its a roguelike dissuade you.

People could still be playing this if they had worked on allowing user-based hosting... instead they just scrapped the game entirely, preventing anyone from playing ever again. They wasted so much time, effort, and money of EVERYONE involved.

This game had potential and heart to be a great game, but was ruined by the ineptitude of a freshly started business. I hope you folks at BMG have learned from this.
