I had a blast playing this with my friends, it has a nice gameplay loop, a good concept and a lot of replay potential. I strongly feel that this game could be so much fun with either faster pacing or with a higher number of friends (8 would be so chaotic but fun).

Played for around 1 hour 30 mins. 10 mins was with a friend and it was fun. The rest was on my own.. Got 3 gems made and started hunting sharks in the water only for it to crash once I killed one. Waste of an hour and a half..

I like it, but it makes the slinger noise very quiet, which usually wouldn't affect much but as a hammer main, the noise of the charged step is based off the slinger noise. So when you're watching a monster, waiting for it to attack and you're spamming your charged step for better positioning, you won't be able to tell when you're able to dash again as it's drowned out by other noises. Nit picky? Sure. But it costs 8 euros.

Great design, a bit weird that it goes on your gut when sheathed but other than that it's good

Yes I have over 1-2k hours across multiple platforms, and yes I do enjoy playing the game. But I can't in good faith recommend this game as Blizzard has taken a massive dump on the chests of every single OW1 player who has:
1). Bought the game
2). Expected the promised story content
3). DPS Doom enjoyers.
The game has a pretty nasty community and you will for sure experience toxic behaviour if you're not an already good player who carries every game you've been in. The game has a very unbalanced roster with blatant counters, which isn't a bad thing unless you're solo queueing or have a lack of coms.

There's more I can say about this game, but I fail to find the words for it

Can't play this trash game anymore. Spent a good 48 hours trying to install it JUST to feel the nostalgia of playing the game again, only to be met with a dead game. Latest update straight up killed the game and you're not even able to stay in the main menu for more than a minute without it freezing. The game itself isn't even worth playing, and don't bother with the other Ark related games by these publishers as you'd most likely get backstabbed by them years down the line when the next Ark game comes out. Words cannot describe just how upset I am that this once great game comes to an end like this.

As much as I love the game, and trust me I do love it. I can not recommend it because the game is very rng heavy, even if it doesn't really seem like it. The meta for most kills changes with each patch which is well and good, but even having a chance of getting to the leaderboard requires many many hours of grinding for the perfect start (getting good rng to get xp tome and difficulty) as well as legendaries, wrenches and as much luck as you can before opening any chests or shrines. That means you're fighting an impossible battle to get amazing rng and it does feel good to get that god run, but getting to that point is just not fun. Now I love a good challenge in games like these and I wouldn't be giving this a bad review if not for the fact that even in basic gameplay, you need good rng to get far. Didn't get projectile tome after reaching level 20? Welp, you just wasted 10 mins fighting an uphill fight just to get dogged by odds. Maybe I just have a skill issue, but to me it's just not fun to reset runs, not because I didn't get good items, but because I only got the ones I didn't need

Amazing vr game. I've never had as much fun and as much of a workout in any other VR game. Fell in love with the art style, weapons and mechanics pretty early on into playing it. If you own a VR headset and are looking for a fun time then this is 100% worth it.

Issue(s):

The way the game handles the camera orientation is a bit janky. I've had to reset my room alignment after most battles since the second you kill the last enemy it sets that direction you were looking as the default orientation. It's not enough to be majorly annoying but it deffo takes the immersion out a bit.

I'm not a huge fan of the final boss since it's got sooo much HP and is quite repetitive until the last phase.

Recommendation(s):

Interactive maps
I think adding more interactive maps would be nice. Instead of having hazards be active constantly or occasionally, why not have some be activated via buttons/targets? I feel that having things in the arena that you can help liven it up and bring a new about new tactics/strats.

Equipable arms
Adding in the ability to bring an extra arm or two into the arena could be sick and would help with the final boss. For example, If you lose an arm, you could reach behind your head and pull out another arm and jam it into the missing arm's socket at the cost of its locomotion being horrendous, it'd save you from flailing one arm around while having the other one doing nothing. It'd also bring more options an extra layer when build planning.

Phenomenal game, I haven't seen such a fun, quirky and terrifying game like this done the way it's been done before. It has a breathtaking story of unity and loyalty with a contrasting grotesque kind of dystopian world that has you on your toes whether it's finding food, powerups, looking out for enemies or finding water.

I can't recommend this game enough. I finished it 20 mins ago of my writing this and my mind is still in awe from the journey this game brought me on. If you want to watch some gameplay, Jerma has a few good VODS.

10/10 Don't get too attatched to your lil dudes

Welp, here I am again. After 100% completing Iceborne I posted the review, I think I had about 1.1K hrs when I did it but with this game, I 100% completed it in like 2 weeks with 188hrs. Granted this is before any title update but damn I love this game.
It took the best parts of World and Rise and combined it into one game and threw a whole bunch of sprinkles on it.
It's truly a shame the optimization is how it is and that half the playerbase could straight up just not play the game. I've had my more than fair share of game breaks and visual bugs, some of which made the game unplayable. Even still I think this game is worth it. There are no bad fights, there are no bad themes, hitting offsets and counters is like shooting fairy dust into your brain, the weapons all feel so damn good to play and my god the weapons and armour look amazing. I only hope the devs can make the game playable to those who can't play, that they can keep putting out banger fights and to maybe have the endemic life that you catch be put on display. I'll upload a new review once I 100% the dlc that'll follow this game.
