I'm going to say what most people have said already, but this game was kinda doomed from the get go.

People are saying this game failed because of the Game Awards. Because of online hate. Because of negativity from day one. That's not what happened.

What happened is It launched with 100k concurrent players on day one. That’s gamers showing up to see what’s on the table. They just didn’t like what was served.

If players like something, they stay. If they don’t, they leave. It’s not a culture war. It’s product-market fit.
Performance was shaky at launch. Network issues didn’t help. But that wasn’t the real problem.

The real problem is the industry keeps greenlighting games that are assembled, not conceived. Highguard feels like a spreadsheet project, a mashup of whatever genres tested well in the last five years. That’s not innovation. That’s just uninspired slop.

When every “what if we also…” gets a yes, you don’t get bold. You get bloated. Afraid to commit. Designed to capture players but fails to excite anyone.

And the bigger issue? The industry is addicted to online F2P churn. Live-service loops, cosmetic slop, retention funnels, with monetization first, cohesion second. Quick cash grabs dressed up as ecosystems.

So when these trend-chasing hybrids collapse, the blame shifts.

“GaMErs aRe tOXiC.”
“ReVIeW bOmBiNg.”
“ThEy jUst DOn’t GEt iT.”

No...They got it. They just didn’t want it.
Players don’t owe lOyAltY to a roadmap. If a game feels manufactured instead of imagined, they move on because they don't have a reason to stick around.

At some point, publishers need to stop chasing trends that only ♥♥♥♥ over very talented devs.. Start taking risks making original titles again. Games with identity. Games built around vision, not spreadsheets.

Players didn’t fail Highguard.

Highguard failed players.

TL;DR

This game could have been better had it had more time to cook.. However this game is an unfortunate victim of the Gaming Industry cash grab publisher slop... not the players. This game wasn't built to have legs, it was a pump and dump game

Things might change over time but at the time of writing, this game is not long for this world. :\

PS: If you seen my review and then see my hours played and think.. "this guy says he doesn't like the game then why is he still playing it?"

Its because I almost have all the achievements and I refuse to have a game that gets shutdown with half The achievements done again.... Once I have them all I will probably uninstall. anyway kiss kiss bye <3

A classic to be sure, Blizzard got my money again for a game that has been out for 26 years.

Super chill game, easy to play when I'm scrolling through reddit or check on in between rounds on other games.

This is my favorite game to play when I have a little time to kill. I can also sink hours into this game trying to get that perfect run.

I would highly recommend this game to anyone that is a fan of roguelike/bullet hell games.

Also I got demonic essence once in a run and it changed my life.

CS2 Review
Should have been its own separate game, there was no need to get rid of CS:GO.

CS:GO Review
Very fun and exciting Game, The multiplayer is great only down side is all the 8 year olds that begged their moms to buy them the rated "M" game.
