This is Star Control 2. Big part of my childhood and simply one of the best games ever.
What I like about it:
- Science Fiction
- You choose your own path. Every playthrough is different.
- Awesome soundtrack
- Great characters and story
- Unique alien races

Pinball Deluxe Reloaded is a port of an Android/Iphone pinball. It's an awesome little pinball game, which is really worth a try.

I like the retro feeling you get from having 2D tables instead of all the modern tables on Arcade or FX. Two tables really stand out for me: The Brix table, which is like Arkanoid with different levels and with its changing play field reminds me of Enigma from Epic Pinball. The other one is Baga Ball which dives deep into the history of Pinball tables without flippers.

But all tables have heart and are really individual. There is an extra long table and the Baseball table feels like a real game.

A key point which sets Pinball Deluxe Reloaded apart from other pinball simulations is the ability to change the gameplay experience for each table with "mods", which you can earn and level-up. You can increase your chance for an Extra Ball with a mod or score more points from bumpers. Each table has 10 individual mods. Also, you can double your score with power balls.

Daily Events and challenges keep drawing me in. On some ends, you will notice that the game was ported from a mobile game like when you view the table how little of the screen is actually used.

Overall it is a welcome distraction from the modern pinball games on Steam.
The only thing I'm really missing at the time of release is a local hot seat mode, but lets see what the future brings.

But I like CS:GO and I play it sometimes. Good stuff.

Ich hab das Ding 15 Stunden gespielt, hatte es nach etwa 9-10 Stunden von der Story her durch, wollte aber noch die Single-Player-Achievements. Es gibt da noch ein paar Arenas, aber die Achievements waren mir zu viel.

Die Story ist ganz cool, aber natürlich die typischen Rollenspiel-Klischees. Das kann man mögen oder nicht, mir hat's gefallen, auch die ein oder andere Wendung vorhersehbar war. Man schaltet sich seine Party nach und nach frei und jedes Party-Mitglied entspricht einem Ball, der andere Eigenschaften, wie Schaden, Ballphysik und Geschwindigkeit, hat. Jeder Charakter hat auch eine Spezialfähigkeit, von denen manche essentiell sind und man leicht frustriert wird, wenn man den Ball ins Aus verliert. Die Charaktere kann man noch mit gesammelten Gold ausrüsten.

Vom Pinball her ist es ok. Erst mit einem Patch kamen die Shift-Tasten, vorher war das als PC-Pinball nicht spielbar. Es gibt jetzt nicht viele klassische Pinball-Elemente wie Bumper oder Rampen, das ist alles in Settings wie Dorf, Burg oder ähnliches verbaut. Die Tische/Szenen sind beim ersten Spielen abwechslungsreich, aber beim 2-3 Mal können sie anfangen zu nerven. Die Gegner attackieren nicht nur den Ball, sondern auch die Flipper, die eine Lebensanzeige haben und kürzer werden, je öfter sie getroffen werden.

Man merkt gleich, dass die Spiel-Engine nicht für Pinball ausgelegt ist und manchmal ist es echt frustrierend, wenn die Gegner 1 cm über den Flippern stehen und der Ball direkt von ihnen ins Aus abprallt. Der Endboss-Kampf kann anfangs auch frustrierend sein, aber mit mehreren Anläufen und etwas Training, kann es auch sehr schnell gehen.

Ich mag das Spiel, es hat seinen Charme, und ist für jemanden, der Pinball mag, sein Geld absolut wert.
