It's good but multiplayer features are lacking. No chat at all (no in game or voice).
Still great single player experience.

The weapon/curio store that refreshes every hour is literally gatcha/lootbox based. You choose from a randomized pile of gear that has their stats also randomized.

Developers prioritizes monetization over basic gameplay features such as crafting.

Best game I've played since the golden days of Diablo 2! Amazing, brings friends back together. P for Time game, don't listen to the idiots who fails at life. If they wanted a dead end console for $60 but not a continual experience of MMO, they should just play that instead. Think about it, would those idiots work for free? Why shouldn't you support the devs

Early Access Review
Not bad, a good way to figure out how terrible I am at tracking. I used to use bot games in TF2/CSGO to prime my aim but this seems easier, faster, & doesn't cost me anything.

Ended up as 9th place on the reactions leaderboard on my first try, which isn't bad considering the first 3 of the reactions test are probably fake records (0 score). [i.imgur.com]

It's free & can be beat in less than an hour. Decent time waster.

The giant blue flower mob is best (the one that causes an aoe confusion effect.)

There's absolutely no reason for your character to do anything other than left clicking more mobs to replenish them as they die.

SPOILERS:

For the last fight, just throw a ton of mobs at the enemies, wipe all your mobs on purpose, run away to get a new army with 3 giant blue dudes (aoe confusion) & crush the mobs from behind. The objective doesn't actually die so take your time....

Freedom to build whatever you want!.....except your probably going to get rekt unless you pilot a meta bot.

So many choices of weapons!.....except most are unbalanced/useless/extremely expensive (as most of the meta weapons require you to stack said weapons).

It's free so feel free to try out but unless you have a large amount of time (or a decent amount of monies) to dump into the game, don't bother.

Not recommended. Just their scummy tactic of inflating their rating by cannibalizing TSW's excellent ratings for SWL should speak volumes.

Funcom is a shell of its former self. Terrible Support, Live Chat is only good for receiving your money, any actual problem you have is sent over to Support Tickets which will take weeks to get a response which will probably be just a generic or extremely evasive/vague & completely unhelpful message. Just play it for the main story & don't spend any money supporting this money grubbing husk of a once great company. They somehow managed to derp things up in the years they had to fix up the game (oh god the facial animations, how did they manage to make them WORSE when they had like half a decade after TSW launched??)

I played during CB/Release of the original TSW, story was great, support was amazing (bugs were plentiful yet you got responses quite quickly back then), yet the combat system at the time was extremely painful so I stopped before getting too far (Blue Mountains IIRC).

Heard TSW was re-releasing with combat improvements as SWL, figured I'd give it a shot as combat was the biggest thing that drove me away from TSW. Decided to link my old TSW account to SWL, but couldn't (just kept getting error messages) so submitted a support ticket & did Live Chat. I could not get a hold of Live Chat after more than 4 hours of waiting. When I finally got a hold of them I was told to submit a support ticket. (Even the IRS is easier to get a hold of....) As for the support ticket, I DID NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE FOR SEVERAL WEEKS just to be told "there's nothing to transfer" (guess my account is magical even thought the TSW website acknowledges its existence and my memories must be extremely accurate delusions. /s), I'm guessing that something went wrong while transfering over their database from TSW to SWL and that killed my account but they don't want to admit it so they just played ignorance. (since I doubt that's something they're willing to do for the few people it affected.) During the weeks leading up to the response, I encountered several other posts on the subreddit from people experiencing the same issue which I responded to several (perhaps this is what led to my later permaban?)

While waiting for the support ticket, I made a fresh SWL account so I could at least play rather than waiting on a support ticket since the Live Chat alone took forever just to send me over to sending a Support Ticket, I figured the Support Ticket would take even longer. It wasn't too big a loss because I don't really care too much about cosmetics although the loss of extra character slots was annoying.

Then their next big screw up: My SWL account was permabanned for no reason given. People I've talked with (subreddit, discord, in game), speculate it was due to the Exchange and/or Auction House mishap Funcom had yet this permaban was several weeks after the event. Apparently there was some sort of dupe in the AH but this can't be it since I never used the AH during the first week (which is when the AH issue was brought up) I also know it's not due to any cheating or exploiting as I did no such thing (why the hell would I want to cheat or exploit my way through the main story? That's the most entertaining part of this entire game)

In any case, I submitted another support ticket to figure out why my account was apparently banned (did not say length or reason), after several weeks I get a generic response saying they can't discuss the reason for ban. Didn't even tell me the legnth (I presume it's permanent as it was still suspended after several weeks) There is one thing I noted, their ToS has a clause that states they can ban you for any or no reason so I assume this is the clause they invoked to ban my account as there is no other reason I'm aware of. Were they just trying to sweep me under the rug before the Steam release?
