Hell yes, with the caveat, you fully understand you are in an early access game, and also that it is still more polished than over probably 50% of full release games. Lies, damn lies, and statistics.

I am of the opinion that the game is the length you want it to be. Speed-runners were making the game insanely short at around 10 minutes or thereabouts. They should refund their money right? No. They took extreme shortcuts, cheated even. Others are saying the game is about 8 or 9 hours, or something like that. Yes, you could easily finish the game in that time. But, I really question how much of those hours are spent just following a YouTube walk-through video rather than going through blind, and having found caves naturally, rather than from podcasts, or wikis, telling them about it. So, if you have done that, and THEN complained the game is short, you have nobody to blame but yourself!

It is a very complex, ambitious, vast, open world game, with cool AI enemy behaviours, friendly AI, crafting, base building, swimming above and below water, ocean, weather effects, seasons, weapons, and so many other aspects to it. It is in Very Early Access, so yes, of course there are bugs, plenty of them, as expected. Stop complaining about them as if you didn't expect them, behaving like a privileged fortnite player on your parents' money. Live with them, laugh at them, diligently report them, to help the devs. Yes, sometimes they are frustrating, but that is life in early access, and what you sign up to.

I can comfortably recommend you buying this game, even at full price, especially given it isn't an expensive game.

It has game mechanics that are well worked out, and not annoying like some games (looking at you Generation Zero ).

Difficulty increases as the game goes on, but this isn't a bad thing, it gives you something to work toward. It can seem too difficult at times, but this means you need to change your tactics, or prepare better.

I've played it single player and co-op and enjoying both.

It can get a bit grindy, but what game of this genre isn't.

The graphics, whilst a bit toned down in resolution, are just fine, and work well with the tone of the game. Weather effects are amazing, although it does have a lot of bad weather, and fog, which can be slightly annoying at times.

Sailing, whilst slow at times, and difficult to master at first, is quite enjoyable. As you level up and get the fastest boat it becomes less of a pain though.

The game is by no means perfect but it does do plenty right. Repairing weapons and tools without needing materials is a great decision.

Anyway, I highly recommend it if you want a game you can sink a lot of time into.

I wanted a good archery game as I have enjoyed archery mechanics in VR, such as the Longbow game in Steam's the Lab.

What I got was a game of dodgeball, and I was very close to having my headset fall off my head to the ground because you have to dodge so fast. Avoid an arrow being shot from 2 or 3 metres away? Seriously? In an early wave of learning even?

Strongly doubt I will play it a second time.

To the bosses of the devs: Please hire some pre-kindergarten children to do a better job of the menus.

To those pre-kindergarten children: Please allow menu items for changing the graphics settings, to um ..., change the graphic settings so they aren't 1990 level graphics.

To the JC4 quality testers: hang your heads in shame and fire yourself, and watch the pre-kindergarten kids to learn something.

I stand by my above comments with the debacle early on, but in the end I stuck with it and thoroughly enjoyed the game, despite the flaws. Really loved flying around in the tornadoes.
