Edited, and changed to Positive, after hard wiring my computer. That seemed to take care of some of the issues.

Game is a blast to play. Multiplayer shines, depth is great.

I hate to the have to review this game as a negative.

I think it is a worthy successor to Rem1, but I hate it's performance issues.

I'm able to play a FPS with 254 players with little lag. While in this game you will get killed by things outside your control, when this is "The game that punishes your lapses in control".

If you play this game you have to have patience with it's lag spurts, lag will determine if you enjoy this game, not game play.

Please note, that I have 14.5 hours in this game... and I intend to continue playing this poorly optimized game.

This game is great, you do have to commit to fiddling around with your ships a bit.

The 4x "Conquest" mode is streamlined so it doesn't seem to slog.

I bounced off it my first couple times to play this game, so keep an eye on your 2 hour timer.

Early Access Review
I have killed 5 times as many characters as my multiple play throughs in TOME, but in a 10th of the time.

5 Stars

Original review done around 100 hours:
This is a great, deep, deck building game.

I appreciate how Erannorth is constantly being polished and features are being added.

I had good success learning the game by watching a few youtube videos and using the pre-made classes at first.

I'm still learning new facets and working on my efficiency, it is a bit dense and I did put it down for a few months.

The game is very rewarding if you explore the interaction of different cards.

Update around 200 hours:
I never really spoke about the way everything clicks after you play through a few, low intensity, open world games.
Once you are familiar with the 'main theme' / 'foundation' of the 2-6 decks that you choose to play with... play something else. There are at 48 decks to mix and combine. Each new character you create gets bonus stat points based on if you have used that heritage or class as a base deck before in the past. These stat bonuses are also valid if you pick a different subclass of a heritage or class.

I’m going to walk through how many different permutations you can theory craft for, while leaving background as a luxury add-on:

Organization: 14 + in game mod support. (15, I’m only counting one mod variant.)

Species: 15 base types and 59 variants within those base types. (you can play as the base type in most, but not all Species, but I’m still counting this as 74.)

Class: 15 base types and 107 variants (Sometimes these base types require a variant, so my count is not fully accurate but I'm not spending the time to figure that out.)

Background: 71 choices at first glance, these will allow you to dip into decks you wouldn’t be able to initially start out with. They also help with weaknesses in your kit.
Need that one deck you are comfortable with, but you are stating a new class/species? Get it with your background!
Would you like to multi-class and dip into a whole new 3-7 decks? Do it here!

I have not been graded on my math knowledge in a long time, so I’m being vulnerable here… but by my math that gives us… 15*74*107= 118770 number of choices for your Org, Species, Class, and then you get to add 71 backgrounds that will help you round out your hero.

TLDR: Buy the game if you are the least bit interested in it. It’s worth it.
Get the DLC when you are interested in expanding your card selection.
Also if you have any interest in modding, the developer runs mod contests that are under attended. Get your prizes, and make every ones experiences better!

Great addition to the game!

I like the new items. If you enjoy the base game, of course get this.

It's a great take on Tower Defense.

Has custom map and unit making, map scripting, has an easy way (built in) to search for maps.

Daily missions to test yourself on the leaderboards with.

You should buy it.

Play this game.
It may well be the best FPS ever.
The weapons feel fantastic, the movement is sublime.
The single player is amazing and will connect with you on some level.
