I think overall this is a positive review but there a few things that bother me with the game.

1. Clunky. Some characters feel really clunky because they have slow attack animations, and makes kiting enemies annoying and a chore. Rolling is also rather hard to see visually and I often find myself getting hit due to end lag on the animation.

2. Grind. Honestly this is subjective, grinding for a roguelike is essential to the core gameplay loop. However, when the most effective way to gain currency is repeating the same levels to get a single level in base damage, it's kind of annoying.

3. Unskippable cutscenes. I appreciate the great voice actor who narrates the cutscenes, but GOD is it slow. The same british guy reading dialogue for multiple different characters isnt exactly the most immersive thing either.

4. Balance. Bossfights are trivially easy and I cleared every single one on my first try. On the other hand, environmental hazards and damage on contact enemies often did much more damage to me during a run.

Fun looter shooter space sim! progression is similar to a borderlands game, and the main story is relatively engaging. Average gameplay loop is almost identical to rebel galaxy, up to the mid-jump random encounters.
PROS
- great weapon variety, ship customizability
- well balanced progression
- rather fun endgame with endless rifts and lunacy levels
- probably the best space sim i've played since rebel galaxy
CONS
- voice acting and story leaves a bit to be desired. The voice acting feels amateur and devoid of emotion, and breaks immersion for me
- rather slow without completing the location challenges to get fast-forward supralight travel. I found myself scrolling tiktok in between jumps to entertain myself.
- legendary modules and weapons are only really available post-story, and its a shame that you don't get to play with them while you're invested in figuring out good builds during the leveling process.

bad gam

Tries a little too hard to be Stardew Valley. The main mechanics of the game are sea fights and exploration, yet theres inventory of tools to plant crops and fish? not sure why the developer added half baked stardew valley mechanics, it feels forced and the game lacks it's own identity as a sea exploring game...

My starting class mod was locked so I cant play the game?
