A rogue like deck builder that is not a deck builder, but with a heavy emphasis on character building and team synergy. This game stands out among Gacha games for its game play and world building (which is diminished a bit by Chat GPT translations, but still very much doable). Because of its reliance on the characters, they allow plenty of resources for F2P players to reasonably choose whomever they want in terms of "limited" characters while also having access to most, if not all, the standard characters with some play time. Morimens has plenty of mechanics and nuances throughout the early, mid, and late game to allow players a variety of different play styles, which can allow you to turn off your brain to the most optimal forward planning turns. The main take away is that the game treats you right with the Gacha system which in turn, enhances the game play tremendously as this game's main focus is the character and team building.

Note this is coming from a person who has not played this type of RPG style format, Mystery Dungeon, before.

Quick list of things I like / subjectively found good

- The stories are a series of scenarios that differ from each other, making it quite enjoyable to play through all of them
- Voice acting for all major dialogue scenes is always nice, even in a different language
- The game is easy to pick up (albeit the default controls take time to adjust) as in being able to play through without much knowledge of this RPG formatting
- Touhou characters interacting with each other and referencing themselves withiin certain printworks and games certainly makes me happy
- Boss fights prove to be a challenge and show no mercy
- Touhou music just amazing

Quick list of things I subjectively dislike / maybe needs improvement

- Boss fights rely too heavily on consumables instead of strategy. It's like a ratio of 20% strat and 80% consumables (for many boss fights. There are a few exceptions). How it works is that strategy would prevent you from getting hit / affected by an instant kill move and consumables keep you alive / DPS boss. The problem I have is that strategy does not reduce overall damage taken and increase your DPS against boss significantly.
- The difficulty gap between dungeoneering and boss fight is absurd (from my perspective). I do not learn how to deal with bosses on the way nor applying anything from dungeoneering onto the boss fight. The dungeons themselves are too easy and the boss fights are ridicuously hard (only seems so because of the extreme spike in difficulty).

Summary:
I highly recommend this game for what it is and do not require DLC to enjoy an already great game. As my first experience into this RPG style format, I had no problems figuring things out. As a fan of Touhou (mostly the printworks and music), I could not ask for more about this. As a gamer, the amount of content put into this does justify to $35 (must know Touhou to truly enjoy this) albeit it is nice to grab this on sale.

A melee-based horde clearing game that makes chopping countless rat heads fun. This will always be a favorite.

$15 ain't enough for all the pirated stuff, but it is a huge step in the right direction. The only personal complaint is that some stages, like the first one, is just as bright as the bullets themselves. Instead of dying due to being mesmerized or going against punishing patterns, I would have a tough time distinguishing between the bullets, my character, and the background. It probably just takes some time to get used to though. Other than that, praise everything from the series to the community to the sole creator
